Great camera detail on the throttle body rebuild and the fine tuning of the fuel pressure. Had no idea that the TBI units were that sensitive to an optimal pressure setting. Really appreciate your helpful information there. I have a '95 Chev K2500 Silverado, (lighter duty 3/4 ton with 6 bolt wheels instead of the 8 bolt heavier design.) Have just started on a rebuild of the throttle body after 25 years and 96K and not being touched once! Couldn't help but notice your 'dual snorkel' air cleaner which you have adapted warm air intakes from your headers. I have never seen a dual snorkel air cleaner on these trucks, and assume that this is certainly not stock. But your job is so clean, that the setup could easily be mistaken for stock. So I just have to ask: what kind of air cleaner is this, or is it a "Custom Gibson Garage" setup!?! Anyway, thank you much for such a helpful and detailed video. Really appreciate it, Mr. Gibson!

i made one years ago. go to a junk yard. buy a used air filter assy. look at the snorkel you will notice its just tack welded on. drill or grind off the few spot welds. now place it on your housing so that it will clear anything ( altenator or ac compressor. mark its location. cut a hole in the housing to match the snorkels shape. and tack weld the new snorkel on. bam super low cost dual snorkel setup and with dual hot air pipes if you decide to use them. looms factory to. made one myself years ago. pretty dang sime and i only spent about 10-15 bucks on the whole thing.

oo also. probably hard to find now but the 3rd gen camaro that was equiped with the H.O engine had a dual snorkel setup stock. gl finding one now a days tho much easyer to make one. and dirt cheap to

The fuel pressure gauge is in the path of the throttle cable to the TBI. Good thoughts however, on the fuel pressure adjustment. I believe operating pressure range is 10 to 12 psi on those fuel pumps. Much less than 10 psi and they won't run.

With all the messing around I found that for some reason my 1994 Burb runs best at 16.5 psi. any lower and there is no acceleration and higher and it just smells like raw fuel. Getting about 18mpg average daily driving on 32" mud tires and 3.73 gears. Test and tune all parts you change. each engine is a little different also your environment will effect it as well.

Buddy you got it rebuild right done many TBI injectors system depends if you reclean the intake manifold need to counter clock wise but seeing your regulator you need to turn it clockwise to the base regulator base screw then turn it counter clockwise one turn then where your fuel filter inline replace it left side chasis with a secondary in line fuel pump built in line filter from Ebay 12 Psi to your Accessory wire and Wow you will see a great difference don't worry it has a return fuel line back to tank just like a BMW primary secondary fuel pump will not overload fuel remember it works with pulse have it on my Chevy utility truck 95 5.7 liter TBI system same as yours played and experiment with the TBI and its tears spins out wheels done roller lifters by Assault and roller rocker arms Assault with original tap cam Wow talk about compression difference Ecm conversion stage 3 have something for that more horses and better idle and take off depends 4l60E or 4l80E trans O/D Not many know about what I can develope create

I recently started to rebuild my tbi. And when I came to my final step, which was the fuel pressure regulator. I took the 4 screws off and once I revealed the inside. Income to find out the spring had been broken in 4 pieces. Now I'm stuck with no spring or anywhere to tell me what psi size spring it was. Any info towards my issue, I'd appreciate very much. Sweet double snorkel thou 👌

You can get a whole nother TBI from the junkyard for 50 bucks as long as you get it from the same size engine it shouldn't matter too much

I made it. I cut the snorkel off of another one and riveted it on and put the valve on the other side of it because when you flip it over to the other side it would have been facing up

That cast polymer part, the one ypu got from the one guys, its thicker than the factory gasket. What purpose does that serve?

You need to remove the fuel pressure fitting after you get the pressure set. also you are reading the return pressure I believe.

Right that's correct because I wanted to know what the diaphragm was doing and how the adjustments were affecting the return pressure cuz that's your actual pressure to the injectors but I guess it would be interesting to know what the incoming pressure is now that you mention it

I noticed you only used the rubber O ring around the injector. My kit came with a brass ring that is supposed to go with it should I toss it it and only use the rubber ring because mine keeps leaking with both?????

Yeah it's a universal kit those brass rings are probably meant for something else I don't have any problems with just using o rings and that's all I found when I disassemble them

Hey!! I have a Suburban with TBI and need help. It throws explosions down the acceleration body by accelerating sharply to full throttle and drowns in doing so. I bought in rock auto a repair of the acceleration body, new spark plugs. and smoke comes out of the exhaust with the smell of fuel. Any advice?

It sure seems like a waste of time and money for a non noticeable gain on those two barrel TB units. I haven’t came across any proven results that the mods that’s out there made any difference. If it’s any videos, post the link.

Years ago I built a 355 TBI with a 454 tb and injectors, a ported Edelbrock TBI intake, ported stock heads and a small Comp cam. With all that work and tuning for days, it made 232 hp and 307 tq thru a 700r4...this was back in 2006. I took a dyno video but it was on a blackberry phone and the video quality and sound was terrible lol. I also never did upload the video because 230 rwhp sucks ass, if I would have spent my money on some vortec heads, a carb and intake...I would have made 300+ at the wheels and wouldn't have spent so much wasted time trying to make power with a 2 bbl TBI.

@@GibsonGarage u take a jumper wire plug it in to the one plug under .dash plug in two A n B with key off then you turn the key on check engine light will flash go out to the TBI you'll hear the IAC closing itself give it about 30 seconds and then unplug it start to vehicle give it a few minutes and then go out and plug it back in that resets the IAC
