Blimey Bobby sounds like a real genius! It seems like he can turn his hand to any discipline of car manufacture. He must be worth his weight in gold to your business! If you ever had to replace him you would have to do so with many different experts in various fields! I'd love to see inside his shed at home to see what he did for fun - probably making a submarine that is also a helicopter!

I ran an auto glass and upholstery shop for 14 years. I don’t know if people can appreciate what Richard is talking about as far as the CAD department accommodating rececesses for the seams on his thread work? It’s not common for an upholstery shop to have the possibility to have that option. I know Richard has worked with them to do this which makes the difference between a good job and a great job..spectacular. As a person in that field for so long..I can’t emphasize how much of a difference Richard is making by requesting the room for the threads to have a seated place. In short..hats off to Richard for going to the most finite detail to show off their quality and of course the CAD cave..vestibule guys for working so closely with him. Certainly a team effort

To me Richard has been the last piece of the puzzle. Before Richard, the trim work was good...but not up to the quality of every other department. Bringing Richard in has brought the trim work up to the level of everything else at Retropower, which is exceptional

It’s great to see Luke and George having such important roles in the re-engineering process of these beautiful cars. We are all living in a very modern high tech world so it’s good to see these cutting edge techniques embraced and perfectly merged with the other more traditional car building methods. Well done RPC !👌

Comment from here in Florida USA. I haven’t seen a video in awhile that I didn’t think how extremely fortunate you are to have Bobby…or A..Bobby. I believe you know that. I worked on multiple disciplines of racing teams for over thirty years and a team almost always had ONE Bobby there who’s skills stuck out from all from all others. Very very rare to have Two of them. Consequently…often dealing with other teams trying to poach said Bobby. He’s someone I’d be very paranoid about losing to another business. I know from experience when the guy moved on ..sometimes it greatly affected the entire team. I was always in AWE of THAT guy and so impressed with his skills and ingenuity that it just made me feel stupid around them while I tried to scarf up any knowledge I could watching him.

The LS engine chassis needs some serious diagonal supports. Even though it's based on existing fairly used design, that design is inherently dangerous. Not only will it rot to pieces, the engine torque, even with the Audi engine mounts, will twist it out of shape. no matter how heavy or hard, it starts to do that when the engine exceeds 200 hp. Also on front end collision, the whole engine package will dive into the cabin folding the base of the A-pillar with it. As the A pillar folds, the rear starts to catch up with the front folding the whole cabin around the front seat area. Either direct line from the engine rails to the rear suspension cradle with added horizontal /x supports, or "torque boxes" diagonal boxed sections connecting the drive line rails into the rocker rails. These boxes are under enormous stress, rotting them out and ripping off any hard welds. Also none of these rails/boxes can be fully sealed. They all need to be ventilated and treated from the inside to prevent them from rotting from inside out. If you get this wrong, added under that cheesy Aston body shell, you create a literal death trap. All it needs is a blip of a throttle on a wet road to get it out of shape and never recover. Same happens if you drive over a bump with just one wheel, and the anti-roll bar catches it.

If Nat is looking for a tangent to go off on how about lead vs. filler? Obviously you need lead in places such as door gaps. But on the other hand you can tell from the bare metal bodies that the flux is still a rust promoter. Mk2 Jags, E Type Jags, and Jensen Interceptors all use a lot of lead, and all rot pretty badly. But where its not an edge that's going to chip, filler used sensibly is lighter in weight and doesn't have the same issues with rust promotion?
