I like to go -Day 1: loot start house and some nearby houses for a decent weapon. then try to make your way to a fresh food store or a food market, giga mart whatever. Try to freeze as many fresh fruit/vegetable and every fresh food you find in set place. Also when you travel to set place make sure to look out for cars and maybe try them to see if they have a key. Day 2: same as day 1 or if you finished make your way to a book store or other place you know it has books. -day 3-5 read all skillbooks and focus on carpentry but also read other skills like farminf, foraging and trapping. and keep watching live and living. You should be around lvl 4-5+ carpentry when you hit day 5 and some other skills maybe lvl 1 or 2+ (if I found all skill books). In between the down times or when you need to head out or whatever make sure to check every radio for emergency radio. -day 6-9: continue like days 3-5 but make sure you find a car. You need a car for the helicoper and you will get notified if you have the emergency radio so head out when you get ''air activity detected" I whould suggest you go somewhere remote and loot random farm houses or drive off on roads and loot wrecked cars. just make sure you are out of town when the helicoper hits -days after helicopter: loot neighboorhoods and try to find stuff you need. Also start looking for a potential base spot. Also this is when you can do whatever you want and there is no more rush because tv shows are done and you survived the helicoper. Just make sure you find a nice spot to settle the next few days and prepare for when the power cuts off (if it hasnt been cut off...)

Not bad, with mine you don't have to run away from the helicopter though

Be careful with cars. I've noticed in a lot of your videos you drive with the car doors still open. There's a bug or error in the game right now where if you get into a car and drive away ASAP without hearing that 2nd click when getting in a car, the car door is still opened, even if it doesn't look like it. If you get stuck or have to drive in overgrowth with zombies, they can attack right through the car because the game counts the door as opened. I lost a character that way where I had a great start and was coming back from the Louisville checkpoint only to crash and have a zombie munch me. You need to get into the habit of waiting for that 2nd door click to happen before you take off. You never know when you're gonna get stuck or have a truck idle. You want that door to protect your character's life! Indie Stone thankfully are aware of this issue and are working on it, but for the time, wait for that door to click twice before you take off!

I have never run into that problem but I have heard that other people have so it is definitely a good idea to watch out for it

You can bruteforce the radio frequency by trying all frequences one by one too, rarely worth it though
@IcebergGaming26511 ай бұрын
That is true, but it would be thousands of combinations to check
@Totallynotkyubey11 ай бұрын
@@IcebergGaming265 Not really. The zomboid radio frequency range is pretty limited, and you can only go in increments of 0.1 Hz (85 - 105 or so? Dunno, can't check right niow, but it is a pretty narrow band) so you will have to check only a couple hundred at worst. Find a car, try tuning the car radio for a bit before it tells you the station is automated broadcast station, then save that frequency.

16:09 "Sometimes it can bug out and pull zombies to you anyway". No, dude. It "bugs out" because you're watching TV, making noise. Even at the lowest volume (you can turn the volume on the TV down), you're still making noise. Stoves make noise. Washing machines make noise. Reading books makes noise. Read a book in the middle of the room, far away from the walls. And don't walk. Your boots make noise. Especially don't jog inside the house (or sprint). Stay on the floor, don't look outside. If you see them, they see you.

If you are setting yourself up for the long term, you are doing yourself a disfavor if you aren't going for food directly on the first day. A couple of hours of food being out in the sun is the difference between if your food is gonna last a couple of days inside the freezer or entire MONTHS.. I'd say the perfect setup is get yourself a car, drive to all the stores and put all the perishable food inside the blue "ice" box on day 1. Books (most importantly the "how to use generators" one) and VHS is the next mission when you're done.

@@MrTurtlelicious unless you're playing on extremely low loot there's plenty of food around to last until you get self sufficient, you're early time is much better spent clearing zombies and working on skills
@MrTurtlelicious3 ай бұрын
@@IcebergGaming265 doesn't matter. The spoilt food you miss is months worth of filling every single dinner out easily. Free meat, fish vegetables and pizzas, berries for making pies etc etc. Stuff that helps you bulk up and protein for workout. Sure, you can survive on tin can food alone. But it's a matter of saving time in game for leveling by a lot of months.
@IcebergGaming2653 ай бұрын
@@MrTurtlelicious yeah I just don't agree. A few more days of fresh food is not worth the loss of time for clearing out zombies. You can potentially be self sufficient with a farm and trapping easily in the first month
@MrTurtlelicious3 ай бұрын
@@IcebergGaming265 yeah you can, or you can skip farming (or do that also) and relax, cause you got lots of food and time to work out and get your stats up.
@elliottwright37722 ай бұрын
@@MrTurtleliciousDon't agree with this either from my experience. Non perishable and frozen food is extremely abundant on regular settings, and the entire point of the game is leading players towards overcoming finite resources to find sustainable ways to live - in the case of food, that's learning to fish, forage, trap and farm. Food just isn't a priority when you can create/source your own so easily. IMO, there is no rush to do lots of the things in this video, though it is a great guide to encompass all the essentials you need to cover at some point. The only unique opportunity exclusively available in the first week (or 9 days) is the huge amount of XP available from TV shows. It's not the most exciting start, but taking advantage of that is the smartest way to spend your first week.

In project zomboid is it possible for a zomboid to pull down your sheet rope?

Yes they do pull down the ropes sometimes so you want to have them spread out
