Oh, to be a Fallout-style storytelling skeleton in a post apocolyptic world, giving a survivor a good laugh or a good cry. Truly the afterlife to live.

I can't believe I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet, but I LOVE the detail that the rest stop sign at the end, when covered with overgrowth, only says rest after all this time, as if it's saying that the spirit of this guy is finally at rest. Whether it's intentional or not, I absolutely love it.

This is beyond amazing, gives me some TLOU vibes. I love the richness of detail in the background as time goes by and nature just claims everything back, and also the transitions of seasons. Is not only wallpaper worthy, but it could actually be the official start screen of the game itself.

It reminded me of a short film with the same theme that I saw here on KZbin, but in this case it's a soldier from a war who dies, then spends decades with his body there, it's very beautiful, just like it is.

This is such a beautiful video! So well done! I do like to imagine an alternate ending where we see a column of soldiers marching past, now reclaiming the country after having waited for the dead to decay, with the soldier looking down at the skeleton, perhaps giving a respectful symbol or placing a flower at his feet, to show that his suffering has ended and he may finally rest.
@Werlias Жыл бұрын
Oh damn! Missed the opportunity to make something like that, it would've been a cool way to end the video. Thanks for the comment!
@openthinker6562 Жыл бұрын
@@Werlias Yeah! If I could, I'd like to make one myself! Basic premise for mine: A national guard soldier during the initial panic ends up pinned by a truck at one of Louisville's evacuation gate and turns into one, left stuck in place as it is closed. Time passes, a survivor snatches his weapon and leaves, another breaks into the vehicle and the car is swarmed until the alarm stops, leaving the zombie soldier stuck standing next to it. Days, weeks, months pass, the soldier rots away in place, left decaying, until one day a figure steps over to him as the gates are opened. It's then revealed to be a living soldier, wearing a mask, with a convoy slowly moving in and finishing off the decaying dead as they move in to reclaim the territory. He then raises his weapon, mutters a prayer, and finally puts him down, finally letting the old soldier's body rest as he (and maybe a few other NG soldiers) salute as his body is laid down at last. Could be called something like "Finally at rest" or "Honorable Discharge" or "Final Gate Duty". I really like the concept of time passing, but with a lighter, hopeful note where the humans win (and they could win against zombies by waiting for them to decay after a few years). Sorry for the long comment, but keep up the great work! Can't wait to see more!

Project Zomboid truly is the best zombie game of all time, it's not the story of a hero who saves the world or a villain who started it all, you won't find the cure and magically save the day and you'll never defeat all the zombies and rebuild civilization, it's the story of you, the story of how you died
