I sold that one (bought it as an investment and then fell in love with the rotary) but an traveling from Oregon to Idaho to pick up my next RX8 that I plan to keep for a LONG TIME. Super excited. Clean, low miles, well maintained. Onto the next one! Will be cool to see what you do 💪🏻

Awesome got a 2005 for $1000CAD. 120,000km (72,000 mi). Unfortunately mine needed a rebuild, which went well but I screwed up something as burning a ton of oil... I think it's the scrapers and seals around the e-shaft. I'll know after I disassemble. Mines the AT too. Best of luck with yours.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. I have an 8 too and I love it. 200K on it and engine #3. Still going strong and looking beautiful. I have a 6 speed 2004. She's particular about how you treat her. But when she sings at 9K, there's no other like it. Check out Deal's Gap Rotary to trek through the Tail of the Dragon.

I used to own an Rx8. They are so nimble and handle so well. Just replacing the motor every couple years was kinda meh... Apex seals and what not... but at that time it was covered under warranty... Great cars. For sure takes a gearhead to own one of these. You gotta take good care of them. Grats on the car man!

The "crankshaft" is called an eccentric shaft. It's got eccentric lobes that the rotors rotate around
