While texting Nelson Syphus--the Hi5 Studios stalker--back in itself probably isn't a good idea, the team is desperate for some answers, especially considering how secretive the undercover officer has been. It just seems to be another back-and-forth at first, until Syphus starts to open up about one person in particular: Deborah. And the last little nugget of information he drops about the latter truly seems to make their heads spin.

Here's a theory: Matt = syphus, woods = the undercover cop, Samantha = D, syntec = Hi5, patients = the audience, the audience = matt, Sam and woods The whole story is a metaphor for the creative process for this story. Sam was brought in to help run the experiments/ story and woods is being used as a pawn to do the dirty work, i.e. cut all the holes in the walls that reveal more information that syphus/ the audience is after. The life's blood represents the audience engagement/clicks/views and the experiments represent the method of telling the story as an arg. The keys represent the answers to the unknown questions or put another way, the answers to questions that the audience doesn't have enough context to know how to ask yet.
