Many different designs for each type of project are also included. For example, there are hundreds of designs kzbin.infoUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAqu for outdoor buildings, from small sheds all the way up to a complete stable. Choose whatever type of shed or storage house is right for you. Pick from fancy ones or more utilitarian designs.

Great book for a beginner . kzbin.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.

Thank you for making something for the everyday man. Most videos I've seen are either too complex or too expensive, or both. I'm a regular Joe with little to no high-end skills or tools but I actually think I can pull this one off. It's so simple and easy to follow along. Not super expensive and seems to be done with regular tools every man should have anyways.

Very nice job on the shed and pavers, might tell your viewers if they attach it to the house in any way it becomes an instant termite feast. In your case, it would have been best to build up off the ground on pavers or pour a simple slab and build on that for the size of the shed. Within a year or two the 2x4 base posts will have been rotting and almost guaranteed dryrot at the very least. If you're lucky. If you've attached it to the house ANYWHERE best to put some metal shields between the house and shed. Termite Shield: A shield, usually of non-corrodible metal, placed in or on a foundation wall or other mass of masonry or around pipes to prevent passage of termites. Galvanized metal or even flashing works. That comes from a lifetime pest professional. Love your channel.

Hey man, nice job. If you're located where any snow falls and gathers I'd suggest lowering the roof of your shed so that it's not level with the window, as snow can build up, melt and cause water damage around the window opening.

Hey don't have time to go through all the comments but if you ever run into the problem with the pole and concrete if you do put a 4x4 piece of wood about 4 foot long centered with the pole the wrap a chain around the pole and hook the chain to a jack and jack it up you'll be a lot happier lol but the straight bar was a good investment 👌

Perfect for the project I am doing. I do wish you didn’t skip over explaining things like leveling the posts, because I have never done anything and this is all new to me. I know some more experienced people appreciate skipping over stuff like that so the video isn’t too long. Personally I need every step explained.

The paver base is so you don't have to use sand. The instructions in the 2 minute video for the paver base have the leveling sand first then paver base then pavers. The paver base is made so water can move around underneath and drain but now you have the sand covering it all up. Not graded away from house either. Also need joint sand. I'm so confused by this build.

@danschilling5863
@danschilling5863 2 жыл бұрын
@@user-qm1wc7dc8t The youtube directions from paver base show that you use the sand under the paver base to level the paver base. Not on top of it like he does in this video. Then without the use of sand which is my first sentence, you put the pavers directly on top of the paver base.

When adding Quikrete it is best to pour some in...then add water then poor some more in and keep repeating until it is mixed well. If you pour all the quikrete in first and then the water. It sets at the top.but sometimes it sets so fast that the water doesn't reach the bottom and harden the Crete at the base. Especially if you use a home depot bucket to set the post in with Crete.
@KingMarcellous

Not true. It's designed for the water to go all the way down. Plus ground water as well hardens it further.

@@KingMarcellous Are you 100 percent sir? I put it in one time and the water didn't reach the bottom for whatever reason. As I had to dig up the post and place another one because the post wasn't stable after it dried. Could it have been a layer of dirt or something that covered the Crete or something?

Weed wackers will spread the thorns all over the place (bad for pets and bare feet). Since you only have a few weeds, try a pair of leather gloves and a little muscle. You might be surprised how easy it is, plus you are removing the root too, unlike that quick fix tool. Also, you should use plastic paver edging otherwise your pavers will slide out of place espcially with all of the repeated garbage can movement.

If your soil has allot of clay like his, when setting posts just use 3/4 minus gravel instead of concrete. Get your posts in position and fill the hole a quarter of the way up. tamp it down and make sure that its plum, fill it up 3 quarters of the way up, check it for plum, tamp it down some more, than fill it the rest of the way up and tamp it again. Over time the gravel will get more compact. The posts will last longer and you will thank yourself when it comes time to pull them out.

Really tho .. I have never seen that being done dont get me wrong this guy is only using pressure treated wood on the posts and with the fencing he is using as the walls he is leaving it all exposed to to snow witch doesn't fall down but blows and with that being said I noticed he didn't dig below the frost line so it is going to shift in a hard freeze also I have never seen a person use aggregate to support posts in this type of climate the ground swells back and forth throughout the seasons I dont think the rock would hold I also dont think this guy has been trained to do this with the steps he took

Cracking job. Just eager to see, now that time has passed, what's happened to those paver stones around the edges as it looks like you haven't secured them, just placed stones around them. I'm presuming the action of wheeling the bins over they've broken loose. You also don't appear to have locked them together using kiln dried sand between them - no mention of that.

You didn't use polymeric sand between the pavers to prevent weeds from going in. You're going to have issues in a few years possibly for skipping that step. Also, I don't think you paid attention to grade on the pavers. You want to grade away from the property for drainage, and just from eyesight, I can see that space is not very level. Extra effort means you won't have to rip this out 3 years from now to fix your errors.

Well the gaps allow for air flow. I assume a few reasons are: 1. Dissipate chemical fumes or bad smells. 2. Allow tools or things to dry even when door is closed and locked. 3. Prevent the shed from moving or slamming against the house when windy. Gaps will allow the wind to path through more easily. A solid wall would act more like a sail. 4. You use less material and don’t have to be that precise. 5. Wood can expand and contract during temperature and moisture changes so giving some wiggle room for the boards would put less strain on it overall.
