I've made that planning and the cost is 6000$ for my 100m2 yard. I can do a "traditional" one with less than 1000$ and with 5000$ I'm pretty sure that I can cover the consumed water all my life :)

The failure rate on the heads is pretty high and their customer service is hit or miss. I'm glad to see they have fixed the wiring issues now with the preterminated cables. They could have sold a ton of these systems if they would have just lowered their price. Unfortunately they spent 10 years developing this, spent tens of millions of venture capital money and now the time has come to pay the piper. I see this company going the way of Juicero. Hopefully it gets scooped up by Rain Bird when it finally goes tits up.

The site crashes constantly, the images don't load properly. Just to say: This is their webpage. I can only imagine the ampount of effort the ended up putting into their software/app and hardware. It looks pretty, your video is amazing but this was a big disapointment for me.

Cool system, but its a heck no from me. Swapping to proprietary tech leads to nightmares in the long run. Companies like this often struggle to make it from A-Z and you could be left out without any recourse for replacement parts. Over complication relying on way too many parts is what I see here.

Conventional systems DO NOT waste waster as per your diagram. Manufacturers design the heads to be spaced as to have matched precipitation and even precipitation rate which is why the head to head coverage is needed. On a properly installed system, no matter where you measure there will be equal water applied.

Pex would be better. Flexible... more direct runs... less trenching and pipe, even stil. Oh, and less pressure loss due to elbows.
@nova31337 Жыл бұрын
Supposedly you're not supposed to bury PEX without a special wrap applied, which can add to the cost. Schedule 40 PVC should be preferred as it is also more durable and resistant to breakage. Also make sure you know how deep your frostline is for your region or you will end up being very sad when summer comes around.
@dus10dnd Жыл бұрын
@@nova31337 I've never read anything about a special wrap. I've read "properly insulated" which has always been in the context of getting it below the frost line... the soil being the insulator.
@NDGeist Жыл бұрын
Just had a call with them this week, they said for my area that the best solution would be 1" polypipe, as it has less issues in the cold. Added bonus, it's cheaper. Also the frost line is fairly irrelevant, you need to blow the whole system out or you're gonna have a bad time.
@dus10dnd Жыл бұрын
@@NDGeist I agree with respect to the frost line. It ends up being more of an insurance policy, but more for also ensuring that you don't easily strike the pipe with anything else.

@@thehousedr4 Actually it's their website that's doing the poor maths i've just figured out. It seems to be converting to my local currency, but it's still using the dollar sign on the website. @DonTrumanАй бұрын
The idea is fantastic, but for just a two head system (what I would need) it would be $2000. Yikes. Interesting you made no mention of cost, especially when you were so conscious of the amount of labor and materials to install it. I could *hire* someone to install 8 heads, all materials included, for less than that. And from reading the comments, the long term reviews aren't positive. Many glitches and failures. And I see from the video the changes in distance of the heads goes in steps, so it's not ideal for following angles or curves. In summary, it sounds like a fun vanity gadget for the rich and famous to show off to their friends, especially for friends who are super into "eco" everything. But otherwise it looks like more trouble and expense than it's worth.
