With help from the Youngstown Scoring Stage, this arrangement of Xion's theme is a concerto for piano duet & orchestra that is intended to tell her entire story in three seperate movements. Beginning with a simple "Organization XIII" statement on the piano, the piece quickly grows to a climax through a powerful brass choir that serves as a metaphor for her creation.
Following this, piano leads with a slight embellishment her theme, followed closely by a clear statement of the contrapuntal harmony in the viola and cello that will appear again and again throughout the piece. As the music continues, it gently introduces layers of texture until her theme is presented in full by the strings and the counterpoint that was introduced earlier. The second movement leads straight into "Vector to the Heavens", but the arrangement breaks and restructures pieces from this battle version of her theme in order to give a sense of playfulness between Xion, Roxas, and Axel.
The details of the Seasalt Trio's fate--specifically Xion's--are made clear to the listener in the form of explicit musical quotes from "Another Side", "At Dusk, I Will Think of You", "Roxas", and "A Fight to the Death" (as well as a few others that were more subtly hidden).
The final movement of the piece follows a huge literal and metaphorical fall that serves to restate Xion's theme in full with richer orchestration than was present in the first movement. Ending as it began, instruments slowly begin fading away until the listener is left with only the solo piano that first introduced the opus.
Titled simply "Xion", this piece is our statement that she will live on in our hearts through this musical arrangement of her story.

This track is brilliant, so I just wanted to say THANK YOU Project Destati. The part where Roxas’s theme comes in-I have never been so overcome in music, and so I just wanted to voice my appreciation. I was literally waiting for this track specifically to be released on KZbin to do that lol. It’s like the two themes are...dancing, and it takes me over every time to the point that I have already listened to it maybe 50 times but I still can’t articulate any of what about it hits me so hard into words, and I embrace that. It’s genius, it’s brilliant, it’s emotional, it’s perfect-it’s magic. Thank you for making something that has such an effect over me, it’s an amazing feeling, to say the least.

God... absolutely beautiful arrangement. While the whole piece is amazing, for me, the moment that tugs my heartstrings the most is at 3:36; in which the beginning of Xion's theme starts to play, coupled with the pounding in the background and harp. It adds tension/drama to the whole thing, and when it finally culminate into's Xion's motif at 4:15, it's just... wow. The feels. Best arrangement of this piece I've heard so far. Great job.

I've commented this on another video with this song, but as it is my favorite song on the album and the most emotionally moving piece of instrumental music that I've heard yet, I believe the official version of it deserves to be commented on. The people who have put so much work into these songs deserve to see the praise that they get. "Well done Destati I was fine until the last bit. Up until that point, I was kinda emotional, but mostly just enjoying the music. Then Xion's main theme came in again and it had the same pacing and the chimes like it did during the last in-game scene she was in with roxas (being purposefully vague so I dont give spoilers). In all honesty, out of all the heroes of Kingdom Hearts, Xion's story is the most tragic. She suffered through so much hardship, being told, and eventually believing that she's just a puppet, a mere tool, while Roxas and Axel believed that she was so much more. A victim of so much hardship, but because no one remembers her, no one will fight in her name, that with any blow against Xehanort, no one will make one with Xion in their heart. Yes, Aqua is in the Realm of Darkness, Terra was taken over by Xehanort, but Sora is fighting for them. Xion, however, does not have that priviledge. Sorry if this was poorly worded, I just wanted to put my thoughts down.

But she's like... Legitimately dead. Xion is *the* only character to *actually* die. She didn't exist on her own in the first place since she was just an amalgamation of Sora's memories, so when she faded she was donezo permanently. She wasn't even a nobody, more akin to a computer that gained sentience. She had no heart of her own, just a body and *maybe* a soul. Xion is the only character that *definitely* won't be coming back unless Nomura retcons the entirety of 358 days/2

I've always had a problem with the character themes in kingdom hearts. I find myself skipping them most often (at least among the non-disney themed songs) when listening to the soundtracks. But this one is different, it's intense, desperate, and passionately crying out for a life amidst a cruel hand dealt by people who had no intention of letting the subject matter for this song succeed. And this by far is my favorite arrangement of that theme. Well done.
