Now that you're at it, also move a bit away from the mic, reduce input gain a bit and speak a bit louder, that should mitigate the sharpness in C's, Z's and S's, remove that clicking sound of K's and remove those nose hair fluttering sounds, tongue and saliva crashing into the teeth sounds too. I'm not looking for a fight here, I'm giving you a feedback!

I was 14 in 1966 and remember both the '66 and '67 LeMans 24 hour races covered by ABC's Wide World of Sports. ABC did a 2 hour special in 1967 that I have never seen since then. At the end of 1967 Leo Levine came out with the epic "Ford, The Dust and the Glory, a Racing History". I bought that book as it went into great detail about each of the 4 years Ford had a factory effort. When Ford vs. Ferrari came out, the reviews said that Leo Beebe was cast as a villain. Nothing could have been farther from the truth. For this reason, I have refused to go see the movie.

Im sorry but, with all the respects for the majestic P4, I think that the most beautiful racing car ever made (by Ferrari as well) was the unlucky original 1969 312 P Berlinetta before the rear lip was added at the center and one at each side in '70 by NART. A prototype just forged by wind, a simple yet breathtaking line, like a red marble sculpture of speed itself.

I liken it to Dodge's decision to cram superchargers in their Challengers and Chargers. It sent a jolt throughout the automotive industry,shocking them out of their complacency and revolutionized just about every manufacturer, into not just producing more and more powerful muscle cars, but performance vehicles are virtually every stripe you can imagine. Could cars like the modern Supra,the C8 Corvette and the current incarnation of the Nissan Z have existed today without the Hellcat? Perhaps, but I doubt there would be the same level of urgency, the same need to beat the hellcats without it.

First congratulations on the wonderful work on this video. It is a good insight on the history of racing. It seems that at least in part the rivalry between the two manufacturers was due in part to their corporate head's ego's. Ultimately it is their competitive edges that drove each opponent forward. We can hem and haw about what we applaud or disdain about each but their accomplishments and contributions are undeniable to the sport.

The story of the Ford vs Ferrari didn't end in Le Mans in 1966 - now I know the full story, thanks. Well made video but may I suggest that you turn down the volume of the background music or leave it off completely? My hearing isn't the best and I had a hard time understanding your narration several times.

@@PROJECTDREAMMULTIMEDIA If your hearing is working as it should, I guess you don't have an issue. My hearing is a little impaired and it's a bit hard for me to understand what someone is saying, if there is background "noise". But generally speaking, I would suggest to turn the music off completely when the narration is on and only play it in between. We're here for the story, not the music ;-)

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona was launched in '68 and (according to wikipedia) was named after this win. Weren't Ford mostly focussed on LeMans, as opposed to winning the WSC championship?
@Pulsonar
@Pulsonar 2 жыл бұрын
That might be so, but Ford should not have let Ferrari trounce them so convincingly on home soil in 1967. Daytona was no backwater race, it had prestige and WSC status, and one of very few 24H races. The Ferrari 1-2-3 win was a brilliant riposte to Fords 1-2-3 at Le Mans 1966, and they marketed that victory to maximum effect.
@Loulovesspeed

@chris davidson - Was the Ferrari Daytona really named after the race, or was it just a copy of Ford's FIRST use of the name in 1964 on the Cobra Daytona? Lol

1967 was the proof that just throwing money to the issue is not worth anything without the right people. Ferrari were nowhere close to Ford's budget, but racing was in their blood. Ford lost Miles and lots of people who actually knew what they were doing. The 330 P4 and Daytona's display was one of the most dominant wins ever

The auto racing world changed after Jim Clark died in 1968; corporate sponsorship (in F1 at least) became necessary, and aerodynamics included wings.

Well, people love Ferrari for his racing history and design of the cars. I don't. I don't like racing at all, but I recognize that racing is where new things in ICE car making are tested like Lubricants, Tire designs, brake models, suspensions, etc, etc, etc. But the despise that Enzo Ferrari did to Lamborghini regarding the clutch and transmission problems is a no-no for me, and that put the nail on Ferrari's coffin for me. I prefer my 2014 Tesla P85D much better than any Ferrari ever built, although my Tesla has a ugly front, looks like Voldemort, but after 207K miles had never failed me............. But this is a very nice video!!!!!!

As an American I don’t really care who wins at prototype endurance racing as long as the car is pretty and advances the technology toward. We wouldn’t have the great sports cars of today with out them.

I remember this from '67. I've never been so happy as I was then to see Ferrari putting not one, but three over the US 'just throw money at it' philosophy. Remember at the previous year's Le Mans, it took 7 litres of Ford to defeat a mere 4 of Ferrari. Ferrari - artistry; Ford - brute force. FORZA FERRARI.

You win some, you lose some. Ford’s winning of the La Mans in 66 is a great story as well as their many additional successes, but ultimately Ford had to prove itself against Ferrari. It goes without saying that Ferrari has a proud tradition of victory in motorsports. They have nothing to prove.
