So the top of the arc its.....weightless

No, It still has mass so it has weight. It just no longer has horizontal velocity. I stops going up but it's still going forward

@@Tgirds it wouldn't feel weight though? cause mass x 0 = 0 weight

@@jackbrady9738 I wonder if it's like when you're on a swing and right before you come back down you sort of feel weightless?

"Weight" is defined as the force with which gravity pulls you down. In a parabolic trajectory, the force going up is greater than the force going down, so you still feel "weight," but in the opposite direction ("negative weight," if you had to name it??). At the top/vertex of the parabola, there is a small moment where the upward acceleration has decayed enough to be equal to the downward acceleration of gravity, at which point there's no vertical motion (because the two cancel each other out). Because the upward acceleration is exactly opposite to downward acceleration of gravity (9.81 m/s^2), you don't feel the force and perceive it as "weightlessness," but the actual weight doesn't change, because gravity hasn't changed. The same thing happens when a bus runs over bumpy road and you momentarily feel like you're floating. At any given point, you can never feel all the forces acting upon you. You can only feel the resulting net-force after equal and opposite forces have canceled each other out, therefore the concept of "weightlessness."

Podoba mi się sposób w jaki tłumaczona jest parabola, poprzez najbardziej zrozumiały dla nas język czyli sport
