Projectile Motion Problems Launched at an Angle

How to solve projectile motion problems when the projectile is launched at an angle. These example problems go over how to find distance and height or range and maximum height.
These videos also show how to find the horizontal and vertical components of the initial velocity of the projectile.
These problems are common AP Physics C or 1 problems.

(-1/2)*gt^2 should not result in a negative cause g = -9.8 result should have been 4.9t^2 + 19.6t

For most applications g=+9.8 and you replace a= -g in all free fall and projectile motion equations because the direction is downward in those problems. Keeping g a positive 9.8 is important so that in other applications of g (such as the weight force Fg=mg or gravitational potential energy Ug-mgh) you don't plug in a -9.8 and mess up the algebra of your problem. This video is intended for AP Physics C students and g=+9.8 is the convention that the test uses. Hope this was helpful!
