Shyness is related to our fears of the results. If we want to overcome shyness that means we have to overcome our fears. I believe that everything is in our mindset. If we manage to change our mindset we will be able to overcome shyness and fears.

My 13 year old son is extremely shy and definitely battles with social anxiety (can’t even order himself food without shutting down and getting triggered into a hostel mood because of it). People always thinks he madd in general or madd towards them because of his lack to be able to emotionally be open. By watching this content I can say my son has all these symptoms and defense mechanisms and it makes me feel very hopeful that there is guidance to help me help him ! Thank you so much.

This was actually very helpful. I have to admit I didn’t think i was gonna learn anything but I was hooked on the very first thing you said. My shyness is not my identity!! I’ve been identified as that my whole life and I always hated it. It has tricked me to think this is who I actually am because this is how people perceive me all the time. I realize it’s froze me from being anything other than that, and I don’t want to be accused of “being something that I’m not.” (Micro managing at its finest) Theres a lot of great information here, thanks!

My problem is I will talk and take control if I know I am cooler/better higher up the leaderboards But when it comes to new people or cooler people then I am so quiet for example I could be playing football with the hardest kid in the year but if he is trash then I would call for the ball shout etc but if I'm sat next to him I wouldn't say a word so annoying

I have always been shy for as long as I’ve known, then transferred before entering high school. I loved high school and did really well with my social skills. I talked to everyone and anyone. Now I am 22, a senior in college and I am at the worst part of social anxiety yet. In the beginning of the year, I was always excited to present and to talk in front of the class. But now I dread it each time, get hot and shaky and then when I actually present, I start with a shortness in breath and keep it until I’m finished. I struggle immediately, as I give one or two word responses when I meet someone new. I struggle keeping eye contact and keeping the conversation. I for some reason always think the worst and think everyone is out to get me or doesn’t like me already. On top of that, I am also told I have a resting b face and in all seriousness, I do not mean to nor want to give off that thought. Thank you for this video, as I can relate and learn so much from it.
