That includes watching for behaviour like his. I've seen it from boys right on this site. I consider this case a triumph because for the past few years I have called out bratty kids who believe it is cute and clever to post comments flat out saying they are engaging in this type of behaviour. They come back and mock those of us who report such content as if they're untouchable. I've said it many times that when they least expect it authorities will be able to organise between countries to arrest and prosecute those who commit these acts. The perpetrators come back and gloat with such sentiments as "I can say what I want, it's free speech," or "it's just a joke." This guy was an older teenager when he started, which means he was online during the time that concerned and responsible people would have been calling out such behaviour. This is why parents and others need to not only watch for victimisation, but to also be aware of such dog whistle phrases as "I can say what I want, it's free speech," and other such confrontational behaviour because their own sons may be online being cautioned by others, but parents are ignoring it because, "well, he's just a boy and it's only words." This guy could have been taught better long before he ever got online. Society is also partially to blame. Watch your kids to make sure they're not the ones becoming the perpetrators.

We all can do our part. Call it out when you see it. Such behaviour is right here on this very site. That "troll" who is "just joking?" Yep, that'll be someone just like this kid who started by pushing the boundaries of others and when they're called out, they gloat and say "haha, free speech," or "you can't tell me what to do" or they call concerned people names such as "karen" or flat out go on a tirade of insults. This case is a triumph and I look forward to others being caught. YT will eventually sort out its reporting and blocking system to get rid of those who post links to illegal material or comment to recruit others to share such material. Again, we all can help. I have reported kids as young as 12 who were on social media harassing women's group or making "jokes" about doing what this guy did. I have received messages from their relatives thanking me and other concerned people who took the time to contact them. I have sent pages to the police in the towns where some of them live. This is from England to the US, and it was well over a decade ago. No one on here is helpless. We all are capable of taking action. The police don't know about content because they aren't seeing it until it is too late. This guy could very well be one of those "he's just joking" types who could have been caught long before he ever escalated and became emboldened to contact children to do such despicable acts.
