What is Prologue?
A prologue is an introductory section found at the beginning of a literary work, such as a book or play. Its purpose is to provide background information about the story, characters, or setting. Prologues can set the tone, introduce themes, or foreshadow events that will occur later in the story. The term 'prologue' comes from the Greek word prologos, meaning 'before the word'.
Epilogue:
An epilogue appears at the end of a literary work.
It serves to provide closure or a sense of resolution after the main narrative.
Epilogues often wrap up the story, offer final thoughts, or provide a glimpse into the future. To conclude, a prologue sets the stage, while an epilogue concludes the story. Both play distinct roles in enhancing the reader’s experience.
