@@Iisho Bryce Papenbrook works in L.A. and yeah, they reuse him a lot and cast him as the male protagonist. He's also Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins and Shirou from Fate stay night UBW. I usually don't mind hearing the same voices in different shows, as long as the characters are acted out differently, but Bryce's characters do all tend to blend into each other. It's pretty annoying.

Casual Goats I completely agree about Land of Lustrous. A big part of the reason CG works there is the inorganic nature of the characters. Inuyashiki also used CG effectively, to a lesser extent, because the main characters are also inorganic.

If you haven't seen it, it is 100% worth it. The movie is like the embodiment of everything Trigger, and the CG isn't the only style it uses. There are a lot of shots with it and most of them don't look bad, but the actual style of the movie is almost indescribable. There are a lot of hand-drawn scenes that look absolutely fantastic, right out of something like Gurren Lagann.

I personally think the CG blends pretty well with the animation, plus there's a bunch of hand drawn animation in this so you don't have to worry about CG being in your face and looking off.

I just got done watching this movie. Damn is this thing a wild ride. It's that trigger magic. This is their best work yet. Combining cgi and 2D animation like this is amazing. And is that Haruko I hear as Lucia?! I really hope Patrick Seitz voices Vulcan. He looks exactly like gamagori.

Promare is the most relevant animated film of 2019 because it’s about how we should help refugees and abolish ICE, and how transporting a select few number of people off the planet isn’t going to save humanity from the Climate Crisis. Also, gay rights.

Valeria Rose Martinez there’s more to it than that. In the 4DX film when Lio’s mask broke you smell roses. In Japan that singles romantic interest. After the kiss, in Japanese Galo tells Lio he needs to take responsibility which doesn’t translate well in English but in Japanese is basically a proposal or at least a signal to start dating. There is also official wedding merch with matching rings.
