Dave I saw an interview you had with someone who sounded Jewish or Israeli and he was asking you how you would like your two children to turn out. Straight or gay. Your response was that if they turned out to be straight it would be fantastic and if one of them was gay that would be ok too. Not fantastic but just ok.??? Do you feel that way about yourself. That it would be fantastic if you were straight and could get rid of the guy who is your husband/wife. Or that it is just ok that you are gay and have to make the best out of it. You agree with all the right wing evangelical christians who believe that people like you groom children to be gay. Did you adopt two children so you could groom them to be gay like the christians believe.
@kaboomblueskies Жыл бұрын
I was hoping that Dave Rubin was going to answer this. But you said you were conservative and do not believe the grooming accusation put forward by evangelical christians. But you are prepared to follow people who make this lie a part of their politics.

@Charlotte_Martel Жыл бұрын
It would have been interesting if Pastor Frank shared his thoughts on Dave's marriage based on his theology though 🤔
@kaboomblueskies Жыл бұрын
@@Charlotte_Martel That would have been embarrassing. Most evangelicals think that Dave is a sinner for having sex with a man. They think that his type grooms children so you have to wonder why he and his husband/wife adopted children. Very dubious. Especially because Dave agrees with the evangelicals politics and their religion forms a huge part of their politics. It is strange for an outwardly gay and intelligent man to agree with people who think him and his partner are abominations in the eyes of God.
@biblicalworldview1 Жыл бұрын
@@Charlotte_Martel Why? Dave knows Frank and others (Ben Shapiro, other Christians, etc.) don't agree with it, but that's the beauty of this conversation. Dave's gay relationship doesn't have to define him as a person, nor does it have to define the conversation. If I sat down with Dave, he can ask, "Do you believe God endorses gay marriage"? I would say, "No, He doesn't". And Dave would say, "Ok, great, let's move on." Dave doesn't agree with everything I believe either. And that is what I love about this.
@Charlotte_Martel Жыл бұрын
@@biblicalworldview1 Perhaps I did not convey this well. Pastor Frank makes a big show of solidarity with Dave against atheism and the Woke (the latter of which, I firmly agree), but due to his fundamentalist theology, Frank holds that Dave, as a gay Jew, is just as damned as the godless Wokesters. The guy seems to think that Catholics don't even have a belief in Jesus, for God's sake. I just wish that he would stop with the false solidarity.

How would you feel about your pastor not sharing the Gospel with an individual who was a homosexual. What is your knowledge of the Bible's position on such a lifestyle. There is no example in the Bible of Jesus, Paul, Peter or any other writer in the Bible who had conversations without confronting individuals about their sin. Dave is a homosexual sitting with a man who states he believes in Jesus Christ, and that man does not at any time on any level give the Gospel or confront Dave about a lifestyle that will send his soul to the Life of Fire. See 1 Corinthians 6. Frank Turek should have had something to say when when Dave said Christians have been tolerant of his lifestyle. Turek is denying his faith.

Norm Giesler and Josh McDowell books helped me tremendously. I too came to faith in the Navy (1979), but I was an agnostic leaning New Age (the Pyramid Power/Mystery of Atlantis/Chariots of the Gods era), when someone gave me a New Testament. Having read the critiques of Christiany, the skeptics on the Bible, I decided to read it myself rather than just accept opinions on both. My life was changed, I saw Jesus...unfiltered....for the 1st time, and realized I had to decide he was "either a liar, a lunatic, or the Son of God, but don't claim he was a good man, he didnt leave room for it" (CS Lewis). Life is more than a journey, its a revelation...if we're open to it.

This was AMAZING. He's ✅️ right, the purpose of life is to know God and make Him known. ❤ I rarely hear anyone say that. In fact, it may be the first I've heard someone say it. It is exactly what I tell people. Our purpose isn't what we DO, it's who we know --> GOD. After that, everything about us is transformed toward godliness.

Lol a _"rational mind"_ could never conclude that our moral status is the result of a talking snake convincing a rib woman and mud figurine man to eat a magic fruit against the wishes of an invisible being who thinks it moral to execute our unruly rebellious children who disobey their parents ( sounds like most teenagers to me ) 🤭

“I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist” is a must read. For Theists and Atheists alike.
@aidanya1336 Жыл бұрын
Why? As an atheist i never read this one (i have others). When your book is titled with a obviously strawman statement. This is really puts me off. What is so good about it?
@BiggMo Жыл бұрын
@@aidanya1336 it’s not a must read …. But it’s an opportunity to explore and affirm your position through critical thought in exploring both sides of the decision. Whether your religious or an atheist…

@@BiggMo Is it a case for Christianity or is it a case against atheism? The former is interesting. The latter is not.
@biblicalworldview1 Жыл бұрын
@@aidanya1336faith is a belief, and atheists believe that God does not exist, and if you read the book it leaves out of case why it takes a lot more faith to be an atheist than to be a Christian. The three arguments he laid out at the beginning are great examples.
@aidanya1336 Жыл бұрын
@@biblicalworldview1 strange how you equate faith and belief as if they mean the same. Yet i have more faith than a christian. Which cannot mean belief. As i cannot have more "belief" than a christian. You are switching the definition of belief mid sentence. But even if it requires more faith to be an atheist. Is having faith a bad thing? Is having less faith better than having more faith? Which you seem to imply. My understanding of Christianity is that having faith is considered a good thing.

In a recent interview with Eric Metaxas, Jordan Peterson said he sees some Atheists/Agnostics framing Faith as, "... the willingness to suspend disbelief in the service of a fairy tale." He explains his definition of Faith is more like, "...the willingness to stake yourself on the Truth, in the faith that whatever happens when you tell the truth, is the best thing that could possibly happen." Dr. Peterson sees Faith as a form of courage, which I find very interesting and refreshing. The interview was largely about Christian pastors or leaders lacking the courage to speak out on cultural issues--e.g. The woke "gender movement" (and other issues) and relates it to the "cowardice" of religious leaders in Nazi Germany not speaking out against blatant evil in their time. It seems that most people want to believe in something. And so it follows that Science and Atheism, even if opposed to religious belief, are themselves "belief systems" or act like forms of religion. Therein lies a dilemma. When I think about the paradigm of, say, "Creationism vs. Evolution" --I used to feel like a hamster running on a wheel. But I have to ask--are these concepts mutually exclusive? is one "right" and one "wrong"? I have to entertain the idea that both can operate in harmony: Source (Consciousness, Logos) and the Laws of the Universe (Physics, Biology). The paradigm may be a trap, a "false paradigm." Perhaps Science and Faith can and do operate together. Pre-Enlightenment thinkers, like Galileo, certainly thought so. The investigation continues. thanks DR!!

I really love Dave, Jordan, and Douglas Murray and pray is that they can go from just living as if something is true to believing that it actually is true and putting their faith in Jesus. They can have a red pill moment for Jesus the same way Dave had it with Larry Elder.

Dave agrees with Christians that say gays groom children. Is this based on his personal life. Is he grooming his own children to be gay. Just asking for a friend.

Dave was just too dumb to offer any rebuttal to elders talking points, also the true red pill being that there is no good reason to believe in a divine ruler who intervenes in human affairs whenever beneficial to the followers of his (or her) moral compass
@amostlyreasonableguy Жыл бұрын
It’s a difficult proposition. I’ve never had belief in the divine or supernatural yet always disliked the smugness of most famous atheists. It’s hard to just make yourself believe in something that you don’t though. It’s not a matter of anger or denial either; it’s just not believing it’s real because it doesn’t seem to be. It could be real, so in that sense I’m more of an agnostic, because I don’t know and acknowledge there could be a God, but in actively living my life as if it isn’t so, I’m a functional atheist. And I don’t think about any of this stuff very much until I see videos like this. So as an open minded person should I just lie to myself into believing something I don’t?
@kaboomblueskies Жыл бұрын
@@amostlyreasonableguy Definitely not. What a waste of intellect.

During the days of the ‘new atheist’ movement debating on the comments of KZbin videos I noticed a recurring argument on the Christian side - if you don’t believe in god, what is holding you back from raping, stealing and killing to your heart’s content? Well, the fact is my heart is pretty content in not doing those things (quite the opposite really) but it opened my eyes to the possibility that religion is actually keeping a lot of people in line who haven’t be able to or can’t develop a moral compass. I’m pretty content to keep it to myself now and not kick the bee hive.
