I would say success is being happy with how you see yourself. This in turn helps creates internal peace and tranquility. I dont think anyone is free if they're tormented by their inner fears. The process of succes seems predicated in overcoming those and proving to oneself. Happiness isn't sustainable though, but contentment and peace is.

In regards to young amaters from the GB squad i suppose the real test is what Teddy Atlas always talks about...have you ever had to overcome adversity? Some top amateurs dont always have to face that advertsity during a tournament. Where as a guy who didnt make the GB squad has to show his character to prove he was worthy. Many top amateurs were beaten as pros by fighters that didn't get a gold or even make the team. Tyrell Biggs, Henry Tillman both got ironed out by Mike Tyson.

I have been successful but regardless, I never focused truly on what I wanted to do, which with hindsight is, I believe, wrong. Life is short.

Thought Eddy struggled here a bit, most of his answers were just waffle and often didn't make sense. Usually speaks better on boxing channels using the same examples but I think the nerves of being surrounded by intellectuals got to him. He's admitted himself he's not academic so it's understandable he wasn't comfortable in this arena.
