Emma you're so great and funny, I really don't know how to explain it! Your lesson is pure perfection! You made me laugh a lot when you pronounced the word: tomato (AmE) . Sorry, no matter who is the person that pronounces that word I laugh stunningly louder than anyone else! But as I heard you say it "tomato", I found myself simply ROFL (rolling on floor laughing). You're so great: a consistent and dedicated teacher with a great sense of humour. It's not only a question of 'sense of humour'; it's something that comes up spontaneously from your insight! It's funny to realize that even though I'm learning English, it is an American accent, so if I ever need to communicate with a British speaker, I will run into trouble as we won't understand each other. I've traveled to 67 countries on all inhabited continents, and I have rarely heard the British accents. The "American" accent has dominated the world. This is most likely because of the Internet. @@Pronunciationwithemma the French people that I know all speak English with a strong French accent, Germans speak English with a mild German accent, but in no cases have I heard anyone, except some Russian women, who speak with that British accent, which I can’t describe, but it has a relatively high shrill and strong staccato to it. There are so many British accents that it’s hard to pinpoint one. I actually don’t know any Europeans, other than Brits, who speak with a real British accent of any kind. Maybe I just haven’t talked with enough of them.

If you are Brazilian I recommend you pronounce the RP English. There are sounds in the American accent we don't have I'm Portuguese., examples: the R sound, the T, N and D sounds when between vowels. In Portuguese we pronounce clearly these 3 consonants.

Being Northern Irish this video is highly amusing. I was searching for how vituperative is pronounced and for some reason I was gifted your channel. When it comes to R we are the masters... no, the zealots of R pronunciation. To me even the Americans sound like they are barely giving R the respect it deserves, to be honest sometimes my words sound like a symphony of rrrrrrrrr with a light scattering of other sounds. Your channel seems fantastic for those learning English, but I'll stick with my Norn Irish R worship. Oh and if you are interested in how to speak like us themmums/usins I highly recommend "How to speak Belfast"

Thank you very much for your work, it is extremly usefull for someone like me who has an acceptable english level and is willing to work on my pronounciation and this RP accent that I'm aiming to get. The way you're detailing all the sound and mouth structure when to say a word is really helpfull because I assume that, when acquiring a language, when we get to the point of actually speaking it, the difficulty remains in the understanding of how the air is expulsed while saying a sentence and from where does the sound came out, wich can be totally different from a language to another. And you've been explaining that very well. So once again, thank you 🙏🏼🌹
