After I was saved there was a hunger for God. So as a baby Christian I turned to “Christian” radio. There I encountered John MacArthur and all the others. I lived in horrible fear. I would ask myself how do I know I’ve repented enough or surrendered enough after that I had clearly believed that Jesus died for my sins. I eventually through my hands up and gave up on the Christian life. Years later after being backslidden the Lord led me back. I’m so thankful that I found teaching like this that put me on solid ground. Lordship salvation is from Satan himself!

For a couple of years or so I listened to teaching from John Macarthur, Paul Washer, John Piper in regards to salvation and conversion and it did not lead me down a path of assurance or certainty. But rather down a path of hopelessness, fear, depression and despair. By Gods awesome help and grace I have come out of that. And it’s amazing to see that I’m not the only one who has experienced what I experienced from listening to them but countless others have gone through the same thing as well. I thinks it’s safe to say that what they teach is false given the result of fear and uncertainty it produces in people who listen to them. I have to add as well that the worst of them all in my opinion in regards to lordship salvation is a pastor named Tim Conway from the Let’s be Honest KZbin channel. Listening to that guy really sunk me in a deep depression and hopelessness. Just be careful of who you listen to out there and keep your eyes on the Lord and your mind in the scriptures.

It's always the Christians who have the least popular KZbin channels that The Holy Spirit reveals to me are telling the truth. People find it hard to fully understand and embrace grace, even genuine believers. They get thrown into confusion by doctrines that subtly attack the grace of God. I've fallen into this myself in the past, but The Holy Spirit has cleaned up that confusion over the years and won't allow me to be thrown deep in confusion anymore. If I sin God will discipline me as a Son so there is still a deterrent to not sin. God not sparing the rod is enough of a deterrent for me, but I choose to believe with all my heart that I'm saved by grace alone because of Jesus dying for my sins. This doesn't mean i don't fear sin because reading about King David's sin and the discipline of The Lord that came upon him is definitely enough to make me fear God despite believing my salvation is secure.

It’s utterly despicable and demonic and makes a mockery of the work of Christ on the cross. The new or neo-Calvinism of today is a sign of the end times with people listening to the doctrines of demons and equating our works with the work of calvary for salvation. It’s a last day’s deception fooling many away from the true gospel!
@waynerossiter99626 ай бұрын
I don't care for MacArthur's theology either. But do you do with this? 1 John 2:3-6 is definitive on this topic, "3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did."

The Lord knows them that are His even when we don’t always know Him. Notice 2 Timothy 2:11-19. We fall, we fail and we mess up. God has sealed believers with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:12-14), we are bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20), we are His children (Gal. 3:26), and we are never to be brought into condemnation (John 3:15-28, 5:24). This is all true of the believer in Jesus. The thing that changes is YOU, not God. This is why John wrote 1 John. Believer, STOP walking in darkness, but walk in the light. It’s not a test of salvation, but it’s a test of fellowship. It’s a Father - child relationship. I don’t look at my son and no longer call him my son just because he sins in some manner - even apostasy from the Trent family name… - Trent
@waynerossiter99626 ай бұрын
So, unfortunately, you're twisting your argument now. In the video, your argument is that obedience and fruit are not necessary aspects of the life of a Christian. We are saved whether or not we are obedient or produce fruit. Now, you're changing it to "sometimes we don't know him...but during those times he still knows us." I assume that you're equating "we don't know him" with not doing works (we fail to turn from sin, obey his commands, or produce fruit). If so, that's a blatant bait-and-switch, because your original argument was not, "it's okay to fail sometimes," it was "you can fail forever at all times and still be saved." If obedience or faith are EVER required in the life of a Christian, your view is wrong. Look at how Jesus talks about believers in John 15:5-6. Those who fail to produce fruit are cut off from Christ. They are not in him, and instead are gathered and burned. Is that works-based? No. Because, as 1 John 2 and 3 clarify, those who do not change in their actions have not been changed by the Spirit in their hearts. They are not in him. Jesus also says the same in Matthew 7: 15-20.
@waynerossiter99626 ай бұрын
It feels like the real source of your defense for this idea that one can be in Christ, but not necessarily be obedient or produce fruit, lies in your adherence to the once-saved-always-saved doctrine (Perseverance of the Saints). That, of course, is demonstrably false (Matt 24:10-14, 2 Cor 11:3-4, 2 Thess 2:3, 1 Tim 1:18-19, Heb 2:1-3, Heb 10:26-31, 2 Pet 2:20-21). So then, as we see in Matt 13:20-23, one can initially accept Christ, but drift from him, and eventually abandon faith.

Jesus said so plainly that even a child could understand that it is by believing in Him that you get eternal life. MacArthur and all who believe in the wicked heresies of Calvinism teach that you must play a part in both getting saved in the first place as well as persevering in the faith to the end. No such thing exists anywhere in the Bible, period. Jesus NEVER taught any such thing and neither did even one Apostle and that includes James. Over and over again the Bible repeats that salvation is by believing or faith in the work of Christ for us on the cross. You DO NOT have the ability to add a thing to that for your salvation. In more than one place salvation is referred to as a gift and it's by grace + nothing. You don't earn a gift by doing anything. You simply believe what God has offered by faith and trust what He said about it. Then,. God gives you the "gift of eternal life" when you believe. Sanctification or growth in grace FOLLOWS salvation AFTER you're saved, but no amount of your trying to live right will get you one fraction of an inch toward heaven. Get this down in your heart. What is the will of God for salvation? John 6:40, And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that Seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH in Him, may have everlasting life, and I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY. John 6:29. Jesus, answered, and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE on the one He has sent. Acts 16:31 period. John 6:47. God cannot lie. Lordship salvation is a works based gospel. Not the Free GIFT. Romans 6:23. Romans 3:26-28 For He is the JUST and the JUSTIFIER of them that BELIEVE in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? By the law of works? Nay, but by the law of FAITH. Therefore we conclude a man is JUSTIFIED by FAITH, APART FROM THE DEEDS OF THE LAW. For by the law shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED.. Romans 5:19-21 Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. Colossians 2:13. We have been forgiven ALL trespasses. The one blood sacrifice of Jesus is sufficient. The blood of Jesus covers us from all sin forever. Hebrews 13:5. John 10:28-29. We can be chastened by the Lord for living in sin, Colossians 3:5-6, but never loss of eternal life.

No that’s not correct, he does not understand the distinction between salvation which is a free gift received through belief or faith ie trust alone in Jesus and his finished work and discipleship which does require submission and obedience. Discipleship is not automatic, if it were than 90% of the New Testament would not have been written to encourage believers to become disciples. Dead faith does not mean non existent faith or non real faith or non saving faith which the Bible never states but simply unprofitable faith in that it doesn’t profit one in their walk with Jesus here nor before the judgment seat of Christ where they will be save but have no rewards. The Greek word is actually unprofitable and again does not mean non existent. MacArthur teaches a works Gospel furthermore he is a hypocrite who doesn’t follow his own teachings.

Hes just saying that theres a difference between a true convert and every other person who checks the "Christian" box on paper. Macarthur is simply teaching faith without works is dead." THANK YOU... I totally agree with you,.. so many here do Not have the faintest idea what "Lordship Salvation",... means.. they think it is How we get saved.. rather than how we are After being saved... I do Not know how many believe that this term means we Must allow Jesus to be Lord of our lives in order to get saved.. what Lordship Salvation entails is allowing Jesus to be our Lord.. and Master.. we do this by submitting to Him.. and being obedient.. Many people look upon obedience as a "WORK".. thereby.. making this an act required of us.. in order to be saved.. I do Not know why so many think that way.. perhaps some are just looking for ways to hate or distrust John MacArthur.. I am sure if they search hard enough they can find some other way of hating him... no one is perfect...

Yet at the same time those people are shallow treating you nice based on your physical attraction if you’re not physically attractive people overlook you how’s that less sinful? I mean crushing somebody’s heart making them not feel good enough isn’t showing the love of Christ. The Bible says if you cause one of my littlest too fall it’s better for you to have a millstone tied around your neck tossed on the river than cause one of my little ones too fall away from me. Matthew 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. Matthew 18:9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. Matthew 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? Matthew 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 3:38 - By jumping straight to 1 John 5:13, you completely ignore the whole "these things have I written" in chapters 1-5 leading up to this point. John makes it VERY clear in this letter, that anyone that is willfully practicing unrepentant sin in darkness while professing Christ is a liar and the truth is not in him. God is light and in him there is no darkness, if we say we have not sinned we deceive ourselves, and if we confess our sin He is just and faithful to forgive us (chapter 1) But we can indeed have assurance that we know Him if we keep His commandments (chapter 2) God has promised to glorify those that follow Him as sons, and all that have this hope in them purify themselves even as He is pure (chapter 3) We love Him because He first loved us, and perfect love casteth out fear [of death] which is the strength of temptation that leads to sin (chapter 4) So by these things we know that eternal life is IN the Son, and he that has the Son has eternal life (Chapter 5) So we can know that we know Him and that we are in Him if we keep His commandments, and therefore be assured of eternal security which is IN Him (1 John 5:13)

John does not use the term "practicing." The term is correctly translated "commit" or "do." The spirit nature in the believer cannot sin. Not once. The flesh sins daily. These things are opposed one to the other (Gal. 5:16-17). 1 John 5:13 is not a jump because the book of 1 John is not a book telling unsaved people how to get saved or saved people how to save/confirm their salvation. We know we are saved because of the blood of Christ. The book is written to edify believers to be closer to God in their walk of fellowship. This is day to day practical sanctification; abstaining from the lusts of the flesh. We do not abstain from the lusts of the flesh to be saved. Jesus declares the individual righteous the very moment he or she believes in Him as their Savior. Same Author wrote: John 1:12. 3:15-18, 5:24, 10:28-29, 11:24-26, 20:30-31. - Trent

@@BibleLine commit and practice effectively mean the same thing. Practice is doing that which you are committed to, to serve that which you have yielded yourself as a servant to obey. Having received the gift of the Holy Spirit, you are instructed to follow after the Spirit rather than continuing to follow after the lust of the flesh which you indeed know leads to death and destruction. Those that follow after the Spirit are the sons of God (Romans 8), they have no condemnation because they are following after the Spirit, not after the flesh. Those that choose to follow after the flesh have no such promise in their rebellion, unless they turn to trust in Christ and follow after the Holy Spirit of Truth according to His Word. Paul uses the word yield in Romans 6, John uses commit, and Peter uses practice, but all mean the same thing... that someone is walking on the broad way that leads to destruction, and has not turned to enter into the narrow way that leads to life through the strait gate by trusting in Christ. 2 Peter 2:14 "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:" Note that definition 1 & 4 of practice is the same as definition 4 of commit (which you gave)... Isaiah 32:1. Many praise virtue who do not practice it. 2. To use or exercise any profession or art; as, to practice law or medicine; to practice gunnery or surveying. 3. To put into any place for preservation; to deposit; as, to commit a passage in a book to memory; to commit the body to the grave. 3. To put or sent to, for confinement; as, to commit an offender to prison. Hence for the sake of brevity, commit is used for imprison. The sheriff has committed the offender. These two were committed, at least restrained of their liberty. 4. To do; to effect or perpetrate; as, to commit murder, treason, felony, or trespass. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14.

@@BibleLine it also baffles me when people that try to hold your position quote John 10 starting at verse 28, rather than in verse 27 which clearly defines the THEM we see in verse 28... The "sheep" are "disciples" that Know Him, that Hear His Voice, and that Follow Him, and He gives THEM eternal life, THEM that follow after the Spirit, not after the lusts of their own flesh, not them that trust in their own self righteousness to do whatever they see as right in their own eyes rather than submitting themselves unto the righteousness of Jesus Christ to do His will which comes by trusting in Him and taking heed to continue in His Word. John 10:14 "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine." John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." So what is the seal? What does it mean to know and be known in this sense? 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 15:3-7 "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 8:31-36 "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 15:8-11 "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

There is no real peace or assurance to be found in Calvinism. The only reason I've had great assurance that I'm saved is that I know that my salvation depends only upon what Christ did for me and will never depend upon what I can do for Him. This is the exact opposite of Lordship and what the wicked heresies of Calvinism teach. When Jesus says if you believe on Him, meaning you are depending only on what He did for you by paying for your sins at Calvary, then you can rest in that. If I were depending AT ALL on myself to keep myself saved all these years since 1977 I could never be certain even for a day that I was on my way to heaven and that I have eternal life that I can never lose.

@@RStark-ud4dz The false teaching that regeneration precedes faith is totally unscriptural. You are regenerated the second you trust Christ as your Savior by placing your faith in Him alone and not one split second before. Besides that, Calvinism teaches the wicked doctrine of a Limited Atonement that is so utterly in opposition to what the Bible teaches it is amazing that anyone can believe it. You have to dance your way around a LOT of clear verses to teach that awful doctrine. Calvinism is warped from the T to P. None of it is accurate. However, I have by far my biggest problem with Limited Atonement and irresistible grace. Grace CAN be resisted and the atonement was made for the sins of the world, meaning not just the elect, but every person who has ever lived or will ever live. Would be great if you provided the actual quotes of JMac saying what you are asserting he is has said... Should be easy if you are quoting him... Listening to the commentary here about JMac, wow this guy is so far off base, and from what i've seen, learned and heard from JMac teach. This analysis is really pretty bad... From what i can tell this guys first complaint is JMac asserting Lordship salvation, didn't Christ himself ask in Luk 6:46) “Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Or for that matter how is one's master, man, satan or God. Or as we read in: 1 Cor 6:19 ) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 ) For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body. If we are not our own then who's are we? Rom 10:11 ) For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” 12 ) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; Isn't this saying God is the Lord of all, well if one is saved and born again, or one's master? Or how did Paul state it in Rom 1:1) Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, having been set apart for the gospel of God, 2) which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3) concerning His Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4) who was designated as the Son of God in power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord. Can't help thinking of the image of Christ in Revelations. King of Kings and Lord of Lords, could Christ be made any lower to please this guy misinformation. One must accept Christ as God, Lord, supreme sovereign ruler or not at all. In closing, would assert this guy has little context of what JMac is making and asserting in his teachings, would even assert even listening to this and knowing what JMac is saying in context, this guy is really incorrectly or really ignorant about JMac's teachings. To say JMac does not teach Biblical truth, wow...? I would go as far to say some things might be non-essentials but, i've not really heard JMac teach anything unbiblical. Would assert JMac does hold to a more Reformed position, which I'd argue is the most Biblical interpretation.

@@FlyDog79 Sad this seems like this issue is going to become something like: 1 Cor 3:4 ) For when one person says, “I am with Paul,” and another, “I am with Apollos,” are you not ordinary people? First thing, it really seems this guy speaks in too broad generally. This guys says "JMac does not teach Biblical truth." and followed by saying around 20 seconds "Today i'm really given my advice". And the problem is this guy doesn't say "JMac says 'xxx' but the Bible says 'yyy'". This would be the first problem, and if you consider it he is being rather hypocritical. Why does he complains JMac does not teach biblical truth while he himself is only giving his own advice as he himself says, so he isn't teaching "Biblical Truth" himself, sure reminds me of Rom 2...? Next the point it seems problematic is JMac would be more reformed, which from both his comments and yours @Delta Charlie, honestly sounds both of you are not really familiar with the precepts. While the problem it seems the person not sure of their salvation, good chance they may not be. Consider: 1 John 5:13 ) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. The point is anyone born again will know that you have eternal life. Anyone not clear... Might assert they could be a good, well behaved church going, going along for the ride... Mat 7:20) So then, you will know them by their fruits. 21) “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22) Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23) And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ 24) “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. My point those who Christ is going to say depart to, sound just like this guy not sure about his own salvation simply because he is unsure and doesn't know. Would agree many young believers go through this stage, and the reason for one to be discipled and taught properly, but he impression it seems the person with the letter appears they have been supposedly been a Christian for a while... While one of my biggest complaints with this guy, as much as I've listened to JMac and studied the word myself, honestly can't think of anything where i've heard JMac teach something false... Would agree JMac is more reformed and that is a huge point of contention for those who want a man centered gospel where man is lord and not God. But honestly seems you didn't really read my comments. You don't believe God is Lord? And for those born again He is not the Lord of? Who's disciples are people if God is not Lord, King, and sovereign of? But in the end didn't really hear a qualified point where JMac is teaching something false. The quotes this guy uses are at best taken out of context or with very little understand of either what JMac teaches as well as what the Bible would teach. To end this quickly and show me i'm off... How about you point me to a sermon from JMac where he is teaching an incorrect message of salvation, should be easy as this is what JMac is being accused of. Or is the accusation baseless and false as I'd assert it is. Or is it perfectly fine to be a false witness slandering another for saying something which another thinks they said, but no evidence. So great provide any sermon where JMac is teaching heresy... And even better use scripture as JMac too is only a human, let God be true and His message not some man's...

Don’t want to seem rude at all to you but when you write it’s really an overload of information, or words rather so I have an idea to see where we both stand. Let’s do this: tell me how I am saved? Please answer that one question in your next response and we can work through scripture to see where we don’t align. I’ll even go first. A man is saved when he places his faith in Christ ALONE apart from works. I’ll even use John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9 as ‘witness statements’. Do you agree with that? If not, explain why please with supporting biblical texts, and not statements from a guy like MacArthur. Thank you and I look forward to having this discussion with you for everyone else to see.

@BibleLine Trent, my name is Leigha. I just want you to know how blessed I am to watch Calvary's videos, and I have been reading your comments. I came to a simple, childlike faith in Christ after many years of confusion, utter torment, and religious OCD. A man named Richard Fulton shared the true gospel with me that all I had to do was trust what Jesus Christ had already done on the cross to pay for ALL my sins and raised from the dead, as God accepted His full atonement for my sins. I have and will forever believe that simple message of how my Savior fully and completely saved me by His own body on the cross, and I completely trust in Him for that. I do not understand why so many people want to attack and argue against the most precious, sacred, and simple message that even a child could understand. I just want to encourage my brother (Trent) in whom I've never met, that you are so strong to persevere in contending for the faith that was once delivered to us. If Jesus accomplished the full and complete atonement for all my sin and entered into heaven in my place, then there is nothing stopping me. That makes me WANT to love and serve Him. Yes, I still have certain sin struggles and attitudes, and thinking patterns that I need to trust God to help me grow and transform, but I know right now I have eternal life, because I trust in what Christ did for me. It was enough, and I'm complete in Christ, lacking nothing. People want to argue about all these verses but they miss the forest for all the trees. They miss the whole point. The cross is the key that unlocks all the rest of scripture, and the entirety of the Bible points us to the promised Savior even from Genesis 3:15. How could we ever believe we have a part. We are His workmanship, and when we believe on the finished work of Christ as our only hope, we are then born into God's family as babes in Christ, and He can then begin to transform our lives as we become conformed to His image and yield to His word, but I was born before I obeyed. I don't say this to you because I don't think you know it, I say it because I pray someone will read it and understand, and be encouraged. It is His goodness and love that leads us to repentance. I have NEVER once ever wanted to remain in my sin or have a license to sin. I want to be reconciled to my Father, and that is why I trust in Christ. I was sinning just fine before I ever applied for a license lol. God bless you, Yankee, Jesse and the whole church of Calvary. With love and encouragement, Leigha (your sister in Christ)

I wanted to clarify that I was born (born again) upon initial faith in the gospel message of Christ, before I ever did any good work, or obeyed any of Jesus' commands. I obeyed the first command which was to believe on the one in whom He hath sent. Born first, then learn to walk and obey.

John 6:29 - "The only work God wants is to believe the one he sent." Jesus said that. So works isn't required...just faith right? I do like how you said at 8:49...."and that is true how we demonstrate our faith to other men." James 2:18 - You have faith. I have deeds. How can you have faith if you don't have deeds? I will show you my faith by my deeds." James was speaking to other humans with that...right? I am new to all of this. Just trying to understand it!

Good job overall. I think in our efforts to emphasize holiness, serving the Lord, and that we want people to know that that is part of the Christian life (since we see so many neglecting the importance of those things) that we put the cart before the horse by including it when discussing the gospel which is dangerous. We are to believe the gospel, then from there is the call to pick up our cross, die to ourselves, forsake the ways of the world, and serve God. For we were created in christ Jesus to do good works, but these works do not save us. It is always by the same as what we did at the beginning - by faith and it will be the same until Jesus comes - the righteousness for which we hope. That aside, I do agree with Macarthur that saving faith does transform the heart as God said he will give us new heart and move us to obey Him and there are other scriptures that support that our hearts desires change which the end result is in action. However, that ultimate fruit (behavior change) takes time to be manifested so we should be careful not to judge.

Thank you for this distinction!! Once you’re born again and you put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, your good works and service have to do with *eternal rewards* not salvation… “Christ is become no effect unto you whoever of you are justified by the law ye are fallen from grace, grace comes through faith in Jesus Christ (HIS FINISHED WORK), and no other means. to seek salvation apart from Christ is to fall away from the opportunity for grace”. Galatians 5:4…in other words… Either you do the work for it or Christ did the work for it. And we all know none of us can do the work. Period. None of us can turn from sin 100% in these bodies. Repentance is not about “turning from sin”. It’s about turning from yourself to Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and breaking God’s laws. Yes, we should read the Bible. Yes, we should daily die to ourselves. Yes, we should depend on God every single day, but that’s not a salvation issue. This is just my two cents.

Hi Jesse, I hope you are well! Thank you for truthful preaching of the one true gospel of Grace.I am a saved sinner and will always be one until the corruption of this flesh is put off by the incurruptible one that Jesus will give me upon the rapture, when we will be changed. As I have indicated in a previous comment, I used to be stuck on the doctrine of calvinist men (Piper, MacArthur, Sproul, Washer, etc.), which became an absolute unbearable burden for me to carry. I find very little Grace preached by Mr MacArthur's church which, ironically and self-damningly, is called "Grace Bible Church". If we believe that Jesus is God who came in the flesh, God's Word tells us that we have the Holy Spirit. Conversely, those who do not believe this, do not have the Holy Spirit. One man, who was a saved sinner, who preached more Grace, in my opinion, in one of his sermons than all of the aforementioned 4 gentlemen put together in all of their sermons, was Ravi Zacharias. The Word teaches us where sin abounds, Grace abounds greater. Perhaps that is why Ravi understood and preached Grace so well and humbly, because he knew the extent of his own sin and therefore the magnitude of Grace. I was very, very upset at the judgemental approach that so many pastors took after Ravi's "fall from Grace" was revealed. In fact, if I remember correctly (and if I'm wrong, I will apologise publicly) when John MacArthur was asked whether, in his opinion, Ravi was in heaven, he said that he doubted if Ravi was saved in the first place. In my opinion, based on Ravi's publicly declared belief and on God's promises in His Word, Ravi is with the Lord, having not "fallen from Grace", since it is not possible to fall from Grace, as God's hand of Grace is holding ours in His Godly grip. I am not holding onto Grace, Grace is carrying and holding me. It is when we elevate works that we start believing that we are desperately holding on by our finger nails to God's mercy. One Pastor...I don't remember who it was...put it well. He said : 'When you start elevating your sin above God's Grace, you are committing a greater sin than the sin you are trying to elevate". I mourn and pray for people who are trapped in calvinism. In fact, just yesterday I prayed, saying to God : "Father, I will never believe that you are a calvinist, because then you would never have sent your Son, who is the embodiment of Grace. Lord, if you are the God of the calvinists, I am sorry...forgive me...but then I can no longer worship You, because then you are not the God that the Bible has taught me of. Thank you that you are the Father of Jesus Christ and the God of Grace!" I hope you are all blessed by the knowledge and assurance of salvation through God's Grace in Jesus' complete work on the cross. With love and blessings, from Dirk in South Africa...a sinful believer.

@RStark-ud4dz While it is true that salvation is hard and few will make it, it is not because they didn't try hard enough by repenting of sins, keeping the Law, obedience, and submitting to the Lordship of Christ. There are no Scriptures that support any other necessary condition for Salvation other than faith/believing in Jesus Christ. Salvation is hard because people like you can not accept the utter simplicity of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. And there are many people like you. There are no verses that explicitly state that we are saved by any other way other than faith in Jesus Christ. I have listed about 35 verses below that faith in Jesus Christ is the only necessary condition for salvation, and God made this fact crystal clear. Unbelief is the only sin that can not be forgiven. If you do not believe the massive number of verses below, then you are an unbeliever. When a person like you can not accept the utter simplicity of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ apart from works, you are calling God a liar. Please be careful to obey the Gospel command to believe in Jesus Christ for your salvation and not add a single work to the Gospel. Read every verse below and believe the Gospel. Btw, I don't need Calvinism to explain how I am saved. Calvinism is man-made Philosophy and not at all biblical God's Word is sufficient And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, Romans 4:5 Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. Galatians 2:21 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Romans 3:28 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11 And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- Philippians 3:9 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:29-31 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Galatians 3:2-3 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. Galatians 5:4 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: and by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38-39 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 To Him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.” Acts 10:43 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." Romans 10:10-11 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Galatians 3:8 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” Romans 4:2-3 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 Notes on John 3:36 [When Jesus said, "whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life", He was likely referencing His command to repent and believe the Gospel in Mark 1:15 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15 (Repent=change one's mind. Mark 1:15 does not say, "Repent of your sins")] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:14-15 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3: 14-16 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. John 6:47 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:18 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13 But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which BELIEVITH in Jesus. That's a question that is well worth a long answer, but in short we can trust the Bible held in our hands today. Particularly we trust the KJV as it is closest to the correct manuscripts of today. We do not have the old manuscripts simply because they decay, and they get used so much that they fell apart over time. One thing we can find is that the scripture (again, we trust the KJV) does not contradict itself, and it has no errors (minus that of a few translational errors here and there, but these do not change any doctrines either way). @@BibleLine I kicked against the doctrines myself for years brother. God revealed it as truth and He had His way to reveal it. He allowed me to get into contact with someone suffering NPD (full blown narcissism) i fell in love with her and tried to lead her to Christ. I didn't even know what i was dealing with since i did not know something like this even existed. He used it mightfully. He also answered my cries how to deal with the sadness of her lost state and how to cope with the intense sadness. His answer was two words expectation/disappointment which lead to don't expect it from yourself, not from her, in which it was clear to me He said to expect it from Him by prayer only. Satan attacked me 3 days straight on that with the thought: if God has said not to expect it from yourself or from her, did God also said to expect it from Him? After 3 days i was exhausted and i aksed the Lord for help/wisdom and later that day during work Genesis 3 came to mind how satan approached Eve: has God indeed said? Then i knew i was under attack. This will keep me praying ofcourse knowing He will not disappoint. This lead me to Calvinism then i started to understand that it us God Who repents people and not people themselves. Now, to prove it by Scripture, i believe the Bible shows clear evidence that there is double predestination. For the believers we can know this by Christ's words in the Gospel of John. John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. We also know the verses in Romans 8:29-30. Incase of the unbelievers we know this from Peter. 1 Peter 2:6-10 (read verse 8 closely) Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. They are appointed to stumble, the question is by who they are appointed? I know by who, but for you i think it's not. I hope this helps. God bless brother.

If the former is true, you need be careful of accepting Calvinistic theology. If the latter is true, then what you’re saying might be true. I also heed you be careful not to trust in experiences or feelings, but rather to see what the scripture clearly states. If John wrote “For God so loved the world…” then we need to believe he meant the whole world. Also see 1 John 2:2, and 1 Tim 2:4 (even in context). We apply all Bible to our lives personally when the text is dealing with an issue in the past. Not dividing the word of truth correctly can cause you to get into weird theology. If faith without works is dead, then Jesus lied when he said, 'It is FINISHED'. Then, how much work saves you? That's not answered in scripture making the doctrine specious. Also, the thief couldn't be with Jesus that very day in heaven. No works. Also, Calvinism is terrifying!

Where does Calvin teach this? I’ve studied his teachings very carefully and have not seen anything resembling Lordship Salvation. Calvin teaches that God authors our faith AND our good works, and has a high emphasis on His sovereignty. There are some modern preachers, who are not reformed (confessional) but do adhere to SOME of Calvin’s teachings (mainly the TULIP doctrines). However, Calvin did not teach lordship salvation.
@sharamadsen3080 Жыл бұрын
Also, I agree that people need to study God’s word, and can’t rely on KZbin teachers. However, I would add, that God has ordained to use the local church (through the prayers of other believers, proclamation of the guarded gospel, church structure maintaining the purity of the teaching, and being knit with the body of believers) as a HUGE way that the Holy Spirit teaches us the word.
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
Hey Shara! Well, the final point of TULIP (P - Perseverance of the saints) is essentially Lordship salvation. The individual is producing works to show that they are saved. If they do not produce works, then they were never saved to begin with. This is error because works are not automatic in the life of the believer. Believers are supposed to maintain good works, but it is a thing commanded; it is not automatically done. Lordship salvation is works for salvation regardless of whether you put it at the front of salvation or at the end. The common phrase "make Jesus Lord of your life" is used to illustrate this, but at the root, works for salvation is all this is. Jesus made the full payment for sin, and all an individual needs to do (and has the free will to do) is believe in Jesus Christ that he made full payment for their sin. They accept His death for their sin, and they are saved. Telling people to make Him Lord, or telling people that works are proof of salvation are erroneous, confusing and heretical teachings that we need to avoid in the presentation of the gospel message. - Trent

"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" A dead man is quickened then he can hear the word and believe" I believe the reformed doctrines is being misrepresented here. The reformed doctrines really exalts God as the author of Salvation.

Again, the word of God needs to be placed above any reformed doctrines. Ephesians 2:1 does not claim people are so dead that they cannot even believe. “Faith” is not the gift, but “salvation” is. Let the word speak instead of the doctrines of famous men. - Trent

There is no such thing as lordship salvation!!! It's not biblical it's not in the Bible ain't nobody believes this kind of lie and deception so why are people preaching the garbage?
@MyRoBeRtBaKeR7 ай бұрын
Let's break that down. You don't agree that the Gospel is to make disciples of Jesus, is that right? Then you disagree that Jesus should be Lord over you, the power over your head? Then you disagree that a follower of Jesus doesn't need to empty himself, his pride and be humble and do all that is commanded? Because that's what I heard from you. There's your problem your convoluting obedience by calling it works. If I tell my child to take out the trash, is he trying to earn my acceptance by obeying me, or is he being an obedient child? You say the call to calvary is to believe. You can not get to calvary on believing alon, if so the devil and his angels would not only tremble but they would also fear. Philippians 2:12 King James Version 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Is Paul suggesting for us to earn our salvation? Or is he encouraging his brethren to never let their guard down? There is that word I imagine you don't like, OBEY. We should also fear the Lord and that fear will provoke us to keep us from doing the one thing that can, and will separate us even if we are seeking repentance with tears: Matthew 7:21-23 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. There is that unfairness again "BUT HE DOES THE WILL OF THE FATHER", obedience to the Father alone. But to my point that iniquity can separate them that work iniquity, even in the Lords rest, can be cast out: 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Believe in, is that an empty believe, or are we believing in something? How about this, believ in this: John 14:6 King James Version 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. So let us forget all the Scriptures that tell you that you will be persecuted, killed, that your family will disown you etc, etc? Do you think Jesus would say hmHis path was easy? It's not, it's hard and the hardest part truly is having to remain in this flesh where you are reminded of all the world that you had pleasure in and it warring against the new creature the Father is teaching you to be? I'm going to end here but I hope you all dive into the Word hotdogs and study to be approved, you must be approved, in Jesus name.

Mark 16:16 is just as true as John 3:18; absolutely. It isn’t a continual belief though. Every time you sin is an absence of trusting in God to some degree. When you sin, you essentially call God a liar - 1 John 1. The one time moment of belief in Christ is what eternally secures you. This is because you believed in Christ. You are immediately adopted into the family, justified, set apart, chosen to a task, and sealed with the Spirit. This never reverses. Notice John 5:24 puts the belief in past tense and the condemnation is no longer possible in the future. If a believer were to stop believing, God cannot deny himself. The believer is still His child. God knows them that are His - 2 Timothy 2:11-19. Notice verse 19 also says that believers ought to depart from iniquity! A believer will face severe, regrettable consequences for turning from the faith, but hell is NEVER on that list. - Trent

Romans 10:1-4 makes it very clear that you must submit yourself unto God's righteousness rather than going about to establish your own self-righteousness. 1 John 2:3-6 makes it VERY clear that you CAN indeed know 100% that you KNOW that you know Christ, IF you keep His commandments. Romans 8 clearly establishes the fact that "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (v. 14) hence "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (v. 1) Galatians 5 & 6 make it even further clear that those who confess to know Christ must follow after the Spirit. Those that choose to follow after the lusts of the flesh instead shall reap corruption and shall not inherit the kingdom. Jesus Christ IS Lord, that is not the question. The only question then are you going to confess that He is Lord, and submit to His righteousness through faith which is IN Christ Jesus? OR are you going to profess him with your lips while your heart is far from Him, therefore denying Him by your rebellious actions in unbelief. No one can do good works to save themselves, but those who faithfully follow after the Spirit will bring forth good fruit with patience as the Spirit works in their heart by the Word of God. And by this fruit, by examining yourself to see that you are keeping His commandments as His love is perfected in you, then you CAN know that you know Him, and you can be assured that you have eternal life stored up for you in heaven IN the Son, which is promised to all that abide in Him faithfully to the end with patience. You don't need to be assured of any security in and of yourself, you just need to continue to trust in the One who is able to keep you by His Word if you abide in Him, not being moved away from the hope of the gospel. John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 6:68 "Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 15:3-12 "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." 1 John 2:3-11 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 5:11-13 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:17-21 "All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen." The good fruit (Paul) or good works (James) of keeping Christ's commandments is evidence (especially to ourselves for assurance) that we have repented from the broad way that leads to death (Sin) unto the narrow way that leads to life (Righteousness), through the strait gate which is faith in Christ.

Don't mislead people many claim to be saved, saying by faith alone, but faith is never alone. Read your Bible. Mathew 7: 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS!’ I go with True salvation is followed by a new life. Never lost is never saved. Many think they are save by believing without the conviction of Sin. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

So where is this works base coming from I'm interested to know how are you coming up with this? I have read the Bible I have been studying the Bible for 20 years. So I think this is what you are saying all you do is believe in Jesus have faith and believe that he died for you and you will make it to heaven and you could still live your life the way you have been living it before you had faith in Jesus and you will be saved. This is what I am getting am I right or wrong? God Bless.

The people in Matthew 7 boasted about their works. The will of the father is to believe on Jesus you can see that in John 6:40 so the reason those people don't go to heaven is because they didn't place their faith in Jesus and rather relies on their works which the Bible clearly says isn't how to get saved
@truthnow9025 ай бұрын
@@Eric_Reborn yes that's because they were relying on the works to save them and not the blood of Jesus, you need to believe and have faith first then the works will follow after that because of your faith I'm not sure why people struggle with this it's in the Bible!!!!

@truthnow902 well the thing people need to understand is that a believer has 2 nature's the fleshly nature desiring sin and spirit nature where they desire righteousness aka good works at times the believer more than likely will fall into temptation and follow the fleshly nature. Question becomes how many works is enough to know for sure you're saved? Unbelievers can do a lot of good works too. This is how people struggle with assurance.
@truthnow9025 ай бұрын
@@Eric_Reborn yes I definitely agree with you this is how the struggle with assurance, but we also have to be very careful because the devil is deceiving there is a lot of Christians out there that say they believe but they don't and you can tell that by their actions their deeds and their works, this is why many will call themselves Christians and they're not so we need to be able to discern the spirits you will know them by their fruits a bad tree cannot bear good fruits a good tree cannot bear bad fruits, so if someone is walking around calling themselves a Christian and they're bearing bad fruit well sining we know they're not a Christian and they are a liar, so once we truly believe the desires of the flesh is gone because we live in Jesus in Jesus lives in US in Jesus says that when this happens we are free from the bondage of sin but there is no sin in Jesus so if we believe in our faith and we live in Jesus we should not be sining, because we are broken from the bondage of sin now we take up our cross and walk with righteousness with Jesus who lives in US!!!!

"Say What?!" first of all being obedient to God should NEVER be considered some "work ".. that a believer needs to do for the Lord.. secondly.. Our Salvation is Not based on whether we allow Jesus to be Lord of our lives or Not.. but One simple question.. If Jesus is a great enough God to Save us.. why wouldn't any allow Him to also be our Master?.. THAT is what I have a problem with... those who would call themselves Christians.. and will Not allow God to "own", them.. do they Not know that they belong to God and have been bought with a price..?.
