Menelaus' theorem, attributed to Menelaus of Alexandria; tells us: Considering the points A, B, C, vertices of the triangle ABC, and the points D, E, F that are in extension of AC and the lines BC, AB, then the relationship will be fulfilled: AF.BE.CD = FB.CE.AD.
This theorem helps us for problems with similar triangles and hence its real importance for this type of problems, in this way we can relate their sides. It is very useful for secondary and pre-university level problems.
