yeah i found the issue with the rank reset was that there was no ACTUAL rank reset as i was still playing against people of the same rank and even some higher ranks, yet my predicted rank dropped all the way down to gold 2 or something, i still managed to climb from plat 4 to diamond but like cmon man

first 40 seconds and hes right on the money. THERE WAS NO RANK RESET All they did was add placements again, you never got a new rank and if anything, it just threw you down a rank or two. Honestly so disappointed, I would have climbed if my teammates werent rage quitting, afking, feeding, etc etc. I had a guy throw a tantrum and leave the game after we lost first point, all because I was playing lucio (with rein) instead of pocketing him. Plat players are children and make it near impossible to rank up.

Was between D1-M3 almost all seasons during OW2. Then the change came, placed D5 and climbed to D4 midway towards D3. Then I went on a massive 12 game losing streak when I was still in the 'volatile' phase and now I'm at P1 and need 2-3 wins against 1 loss if I want to climb. Not fun.

I'm Masters last season on DPS and Tank but now struggling to escape out of Diamond. I don't know why but it feels like there are so many "unwinnable" games as a solo q player this season. Not saying that my teammates are always the problem but you get what I say, feels so frustrating when you are the only one doing something on the team.

As a masters player in the past 3-4 seasons.. this rank reset SUCKS. All it did was put me in plat and now I’m a hard stuck diamond 4 player so this makes me feel better seeing the rank 1 tank is stuck the same distance away from his normal rank like I am. This needs to be fixed. I’m stuck playing with players who actually have never been better than plat or maybe low diamond when I’m a masters player. It’s ridiculous. They don’t understand teamwork and don’t play at a fast enough speed to keep up with calls or to follow up on anything and then they make me look bad cuz I’m expecting, and used to, people to come up with me and work together to secure kills….

he has 6 losses and 4 wins in master gm and top 500 lobbies. he was put in those lobbies because they know he is at that level, it does not completely reset your rank it just lets your rank change rapidly for the first 10 games

i think the worse thing about this ranking is that the loses heavily outweigh the wins. i also hate that if u have friends ranked higher than u, theres a chance u get 0% (as the lower rank, but not the higher rank) after a win.. it happened to a me like 3 times (friend was plat tank).. I've been hardstuck silver2 support even after 121 wins

I knew the system was screwed up when it took me 50 games to climb from high silver to high gold. No matter how well I did in my new placements I was still placed in gold. I then went and made a smurf account and placed in high plat with a similar amount of wins.

i think the rank system is just a headache for most players. people dont realize unless youre playing 25 hours a week you will have no business being higher than master 3. that being said, your rank is your rank. if you lose more than you win, you dont belong in your rank. if the system gives you less % when you win and takes away more when you lose, you dont belong in your rank. healing, damage, kills dont matter if you arent winning games. the direction your rank moves is ACCURATE 100% of the time.

Interesting, I also have a similar experience. Im like GM2-4 most seasons. But I played with some lower rated players and friends during the placements. (Because wide group range is now open). I placed Diamond5 and I struggle getting back up. I have a 60-70% winrate but im still in Diamond2 after 80 games. On the other side my MMR seems to be still higher rated because I am mostly the lowest ranked player in the lobby. For example: Matchmaking Range is (Dianond - Grandmaster. I still play against Masters/Grandmaster players while im stuck in Diamond2. It feels a bit wrong and I think u got a point in this video.
