Proof Razor -First Shave

Although I give the company kudos for developing this razor, I think it is designed for those who want an easy transition from a cartridge razor. When I made the switch to a DE razor, I bought the Henson AL13 Mild and the transition from a cartridge was so easy. I don't think you need the flexible head. Other reviewers have also commented that it is difficult to shave the area underneath your nose because of the head design.

From what I understand, if you purchase the razor, you get the leather pouch, aluminum stand and 5 DE blades. At least that is what I am reading on their website. So take that into consideration, sure it is $120 but it's all USA made, high quality CNC product with a genuine leather pouch also made in USA. Seems like an innovative and great product to me.

That is how I see it too. Good deal but I think it is not for everyone. If you are already used to DE razors then it might not be the best experience.

@@Heiko-shaves Yeah different from DE razors for sure, It seems like a fantastic alternative to mass produced cartridge razors. It's essentially a USA produced anodized AL cartridge razor using half DE blades. Great for cartridge shavers who want a durable eco friendly and cost saving alternative.

Enjoyed to vid Heiko. They are a great shave and being a "high proof", it fits my razor, moonshine, and whiskey collection. The holder is a great addition, and works on any flat surface. You're right in that it takes up no room on the bench. A great US made product. Great chopper in your other vid. Reminds me of my Aviation Corps time. Cheers, John

Thanks for the review. As I am not a purist, I would have no issue with using a cartridge razor with a single, trimmer blade for the close work under the nose and the proof razor for shaving the rest of the face.

Hey Heiko! That Proof razor has the same concept as the OneBlade. The better part is that the Proof uses any DE blade rather than a proprietary blade. In all honesty, I am not a fan of these types of razors. I prefer to locate the angle I like, not one that is automatic. The OneBlade doesn't cut my beard at all, so I am under the impression that this Proof razor would provide a similar result. I do appreciate you reviewing it, though! Thanks, JimG

I've been using the "sample" size Stirling Soaps and place them in one of the smaller green plastic "tins" - I'm able to lather quite well in that container then just put the lid on after I'm done.

Here's a tip for shaving against the grain. Shave your neck first up to your jawbone. Once that is clean you can hold the skin on your neck to keep it tight for when you go ATG on your cheeks.

It looks like an great razor for someone trying to get into DE shaving. The only concerns I would have is, will the spring last, and will someone devolved a bad technique if they move on to an normal razor. Being that it has a spring you can use more pressure than a normal razor.

Nice shave Heiko. Great video clarity with your new setup. I’ve been on the fence to try this razor. My buddy loves his for an autopilot easy shaver. He likes really mild razors though. I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy the shave experience since it does seem very cartridge like. Almost boring and easy 😂

This razor is like mine the (oneblade genesis) made of steel razor, which is using the feather blades. The oneblade razor always shaves me perfectly. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🙂🙂🙂

What do you think about the pearl flexi? I have the open comb version and its a bit to aggressive for everyday shaving, is the closed comb any good for daily shaving or is it aggressive on setting 1-5 like the open comb?

It is better than the open comb but I was not impressed with the quality. If you want a good/mild adjustable check out the poker variant open comb. I love that one. Merkur Progress is good too. I have videos about all of those.

@@Heiko-shaves i already have the parker variant closed comb it's a great razor i use it on setting 4. I like the design and weight of my flexi open comb, but it's just to aggressive to be a daily shaver.

Es ist sehr ähnlich. Der Rasierer ist nicht für jeden. Wenn man schon Erfahrung mit normalen DE Rasierer hat, dann kommt einem die Rasur ein wenig komisch vor. Trotzdem tolles Ding. Super Verarbeitung.
