My tribe is from Alaska, we are Tlingit people of the tides, and I knew this was fake from the moment it aired, one of the wife's claimed to be this great fisherman, but when her skills were put to the test she acted like a fucking prissy ass bitch , screaming because a salmon touched her foot. For being a family that had lived in the bush with bears before I found that the season three episodes were so full of it it was a laugh. The boarding of the windows with large gaps so the bear claws could rip them off again, doors swinging inwards so easy for a bear to push in. Building of the grid showed the doors swing out so the frame helps keep the door from breaking inwards. So many small things and always seems to be a drama each episode - so much bad luck.

I'm from Alaska originally. Most of the people I know from there saw through this crap right away. an observant individual would have noticed that while building their "house" they were stapling the cardboard over drywall. why would you need cardboard if the drywall is already installed? fake! the whole show is another attempt by discovery to interest people in alaska. they should represent the state of AK in a better light. I have honestly had people ask me if alot of people talk with the accent that this family does. Alaska is an incredible place full of tough and independent people. remember, Sara Palin isn't originally from Alaska so don't judge us too harshly

Ryan Ferretti cardboard may be an insulator but not one 1/8" piece and not in alaska. I build houses for a living. They were saying that it was because they were so poor that they had to resort to that. The house I originally grew up in had burlap potatoe sacks stapled over the insulation. I get hard living and I saw no signs of it at "browntown". I saw a bunch of nutty people acting even nuttier to guarranty another season of their horrendous tv show. If u enjoy it for entertainment purposes then do so. But that was not what was being discussed in the above video
@captainjim63008 жыл бұрын
The carboard was temporary until they could get the inside walls. I never saw any drywall but maybe I missed it. It is a reality show but it is not 100% real. They basically reenact stuff the producers want them too. In the part of Alaska they are in it is not near as cold as it was the first season. They are way down at the southern end now. Also they do not film in the winter so who knows where they live in the winter. They surely make a decent living having a high rated show on Discovery.
@danielellisporter8 жыл бұрын
Captain Jim that all may be well and good. if you watch the clip in this video u can see the drywall behind the cardboard. but this show is still billed using "alaskan" in the name. this is simply using a name for marketing purposes. I don't see mick dodge Washington homeless man used in the name. they are capitalizing on the success of their previous shows about Alaska and it represents the state in a poor light. call it "nutso family that has no survival skills" or, better yet, "non-alaskan residents that stole permanent fund money from the state coffers". both of these titles would be much more applicable than "alaskan bush people". it is not a representation of the vast swath of people that live in "the bush" in alaska

Jerry DeWees Newsflash they are getting paid some money per episode so I am pretty sure they are using some of that money for equipment. Whether the show itself is fake or real doesn't matter. This show is about a particular lifestyle that these people have chosen. Just because you can't see every aspect of their lives doesn't mean it isn't reality for them. People have become so accustomed to the fake drama soap opera like the Kardashians and the housewives of... that they think everyone is full of shit. At least this show demonstrates the struggles and triumphs of hard working people even if the episodes are staged tv. They are actually doing discussing and participating.
@marhlfld17 жыл бұрын
They aren't much "Bush People". First, who the hell would live in the wilderness with black leather motorcycle jackets? They certainly do not wear survival or appropriate clothing for the conditions, most the time. They aren't poor. Look at all the silver jewelry they wear. Most of them wear glasses. They are collecting royalties off Billy's books, he's written several. 30 year old sons, unmarried, still living and hanging out with Mom and Dad? They have some building and mechanical skills, which is good, but some of the boys are just plain WEIRD. Believe me, they know about technology. I bet they all have cell phones, just not on the show. Lol, ok so the only legitimate argument here is the one in the very beginning where they went back to alaska to recreate their lives, indicating that maybe they didnt live that way at the time (but on the other hand, maybe they did and just wanted to make a documentary about it) I agree with david alans' comment, ofc it is spiced up for tv but still very real. -They said they were broke on only a couple occasions, and for the most part they say that they earn their living by the boat delivery and many small jobs the boys do in town. (ofc they made money of the show but maybe they have a contract that prohibits them in the use of it during the show and that they must continue to live in those conditions for the duration of the contract) - And another thing, if u actualy watched the show many times, you would've seen that they do NOT clam to not know anything about modern technology or culture , they actualy claim the opposite, that they like movies, that they used to watch them when they went into towns, etc. etc., and they know many things about culture and movies, but are not "in" recent events. honestly neither am I bcz I don't care about it. - California dreaming - california is FULL of actrecess big and small, and I've seen stranger conicidences happen in my own life and the lives of others so I don't rule that out. (And u would think they would change her name if they "hired" her to act) - next - so they took the money xD So what? I don't get why people only think of extremes like - if u live in the bush u gotta be poor, uneducated, unrefined, unknowing of anything beyond the woods... omg -.- Living in nature is not about protesting modern society, it's about a better life that CAN include technology and movies and arcades and stuff, and leave out all the shitty things that are usualy present in modern society.

I really enjoy the show. I look at it as entertainment with some real life mixed in. They are funny , they love , laugh , play , and thrive as a close family unit. What about the Kardashians ? They filmed themselves pranking the Internet when Kourtney had Scott and Kendall play like she caught them in bed together. At some point reality shows have to make and keep it interesting if they want to keep their shows. The Kardashians quit being fun / funny after Penelope was a toddler and Khloe and Lamar were on the outs. They are sickening and depressing now. I love the Brown"s and the Chrisley's . These two families don't vomit words of filth and hatred to each other and worst of all their own mothers. Todd Chrisley could show the Kardashian's that millions of dollars doesn't need to make you disgusting and repugnant. The Browns are respectful to their parents and quibble amongst one another in a refreshing real way that doesn't leave one turning off the channel saying , " Gosh , they all have become repugnant and oh so caught up in their looks not realizing they are REVOLTING AND VILE. Also I've learned things from the browns that are fun and interesting. Like using moss as a wet cloth to wipe down surfaces or use it to fill in holes in the shelters or using it for open wounds. They are great at teaching us cool things of survival that I find interesting and enjoyable. Best Regards to you Brown family !! I'm happy to keep watching.

Hope their comfy, while i lay up in my 635M2 house with the heating cranking, watching Bush people pretending to be doing it tuff!.. i was contracted with a big Australia TV network signed a non disclosure, where they lived in the jungle for 60days+ without outside contact, they even had a celebrity version of the show... A convenient shack was set up 100m up a hill with a satelight phone able to contact family as they pleased, the celebrity version cameras stopped, they'd March up to base camp and sleep in a lovely shack with electricity double beds :) ... What U see on tv ain't what's really happening in these 'reality' shows

I’m from Alaska, specifically the kenai peninsula. I can confirm that this is a fake show lol. That show takes place in a little part called Homer. Homer is a (really small) town on the kenai peninsula and they have to be careful with the camera angles so they dont see the town. The pizza place near it is called Fat olives btw.

Some of the things they do, and how they do things makes me wonder if they really grew up in the woods. The way they build things, or prepare for events doesn’t seem correct. 9 out of 10 real bush people would ROFL after seeing the way they operate.

99.99%of reality TV is fake. So what tbh ABP is a thousand times better than things like the Kardashians who's not only got a fake show but none of them can be on the camera too long or the heat makes them melt. Give me ABP any day love the show and even though everyone says that the family ain't real cos they have money or cos that don't do what other people do, I still love watching them and hope there are many more series to come

Gold rush is real to an extent.. in other words, probably the most “real” reality show out there. But there is controversy. Take Fred “Dakota” Hurt for example. Him and his son were apart of the Hoffman crew during their first two seasons, back at porcupine creek. When fred bought the claim to porcupine creek before Todd Hoffman could renew his lease, discovery offered Dakota his own segment on the show. He turned it down because he didn’t like how fake and scripted discovery made the show seem. He posted a few articles about this, one of the first ones being on his public Facebook page from 2014 where he said “If you want a miner, call me... if you want an actor, pay me like one”. Ultimately, he wanted the show to be as raw as possible with out and added drama or audience bait. However, if you’ve been watching discovery at all, Him and his son Dustin, have their own gold mining show coming out soon. The name has changed a few times. I believe it is now called White Water In A Rush. I think it would be interesting to see if he caved into the scripted drama discovery had in mind, or if he finally got a raw, bare bones gold mining show. Basically, Gold Rush could be exposed in this same way. But given how much of what you see is real, it would be a boring video to make and watch.

its real Tony Beats still swears when you talk to him..
@frankvandendool8826 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Topolinsky, The only thing "White Water" has to do with Todd Hoffman is that he borrowed them money. They are a completely different crew. There has been a whole episode about it. They still do real gold mining. The drama is probably added to some extend, but I don't think it's in the amounts you claim.

I find it so ironic that I'm just reading about a judge that ordered a 30 year old man to vacate his parents basement ! His parents want him to meet people, get a life of his own, maybe get married and have children. Just the opposite of what the Browns are doing with their children. You would have to think that some day these children (if you can call people in their 30s and 40s children) will wake up and say WTF what I'm I doing here. I would hate to think that it's all about the money Billy and them get paid to do this (reality?) show.

Fake but not fake in so many ways. There was a family back in the 1960s-1990s that did most of that stuff they are portraying in the tv series Alaskan bush people. However they weren't as nice as they seam. Part of it did happen in parts of Alaska, Canada and other places. It has also been portrayed in bits in other movies too. And other parts had bigger events that made movies of their own. This is just another way to try and pull people into a lifestyle that never should have been made a dramatized way to hurt the survivors, and teach another generation how to do things the originals hopped it would have been. What happened back then hurt some, keeping the secrets for so long hurt them more, and pushing it in their faces for money gets again, and to pull another generation into is a stab in the heart to us.
