Honestly, Aegislash is my preferred counter at the moment, iron head and shadow claw stuns plus decent upkeep if you double stack makes it so you can outlast Mewtwo X. Mewtwo Y however, is a different beast

Crustle is so fun to play lately. My favourite moveset right now is shell-scissor. I especially enjoy using the added speed to position myself and then push opponents in places they don't want to go.

Did you know razor claw is actually really good with stealth rocks? It may not crit but it can add the movement speed decrease and extra damage the item provides. Not only that but the speed decrease stealth rock adds once it becomes upgraded can potentially be very dangerous and deadly. Pairing it with shell smash can add you more damage, and pairing it with rock tomb can add more movement speed decrease. It's up to you!

I enjoy Crit Crustle, but my favorite way to play this last 2 weeks has been Buddy / Focus / Exp Share / Slow Smoke - Rock Tomb + Stealth Rocks (vs Ranged party) or X-Scissor (vs Melee party), with tank emblems. Even with a full tank build, I sometimes do top damage - landing a full combo with Unite + Slow Smoke inside a Stealth Tomb a few times helps a lot!!

Thanks for suffering through the Mewtwo meta to find counters for us! Edit: That first game with Flareons was smooth. Whenever you hit those last few bars of health a portal appeared at your feet. Without their team working together they could never do enough damage to put you down. So satisfying!

I have played as Crustle for the longest time. It took ages to adjust to the mildly slow gameplay! I use Shell Smash and Stealth Rock as instead, but it's pretty cracked either way.

As a crustle lover since literally the beginning of the game I've been waiting for this day. I remember when it could score so easily and flawlessy penta kill people with it's Unite, and after the scoring nerfs it suffered so much. For so long it was beaten up and now, it's gonna rise once more

I love stacking Aeos Cookie paired with a Focus Band and Buddy Barrier. You become so incredibly tanky with more health, focus band heals more since you have more health and need I say more about crustles unite move?

What would be perfect for Crustle is having a Critical Chance in its stats (such as 5% at level 5, 10% at level 9, and 20% at level 13), with an additional 20% increase when it uses its Unite Move.

I LOVE crustle! Tbh though even when I run stealth rock I still go shell smash. The mobility is way too good. And I run potion on him since shell smash will get you away from most bad situations

I always like crusty boy even before the buffs but now hes top teir for sure. Some games i end with 10+ KOs and over 80k 😂 its hilarious sometimes how dangerous the crusty boy is. That level 4 invade with a few attack weight stacks is beast

I don't understand the crit build, I've played it but whenever I engage with the enemy, I just melt and die. shell plus the minus defense from the emblems makes him super weak, like I cant do anything close to 100k damage.

Funny crustle tips: If you can somehow predict Mewtwo's no warning, instant future sight, you can deny the pull with the status immunity period and make the mewtwo go "huhhh". You wont win the 1v1 after but hey it looks funny

As a long-time crustle main, the buffs feel great. Though I've always preferred rock tomb to shell smash, the passive actually works great for both builds (more dmg as shell smash, or more bulk as rock tomb). I find the wall has so much kill confirm potential for your team, can force enemies to move certain ways, etc. And it combos great with both x-scissor (easy lineups into the wall for the stun + extra damage) and stealth rock (slows them and traps them inside, forcing dash usage, eject button or shedinja doll) It's been slept on for a long time and the buffs came at just the right time to let the crab unleash his true potential.

The defenses gained from the passive actually aren't converted with shell smash, so it's just bulkier all around

Still not a Crustle fan but thats just playstyle preference. To me, a defender without any sustain ability is starting off on the wrong foot when you got Lapras, Goodra, Umbreon, Slowbro, even Trev all top tier defenders with great survivability. Others get left behind and they usually make up for it with great utility, cant say Crustle brings that to the table tho.

Is more of a soloQ pick. I started playing it two weeks before the buffs with stealth rock and rock tomb, fully defensive (focus, cookie, buddy) and was fun but not very good. Now I play shell smash with X scissor, more offensive (focus, attack weight, WP) and doing a lot better against Mewtwos.

Rock Tomb + Stealth Rock Crustle is just Perfect DPS, I remember my yesterday match I was using crustle and someone from TTV was on opposing team using Mewtwo and they also had a comfey but I easily killed mewtwo several times since start but When ray came, he obviously focused on me and me doing solo with Dragonite Mewtwo Comfey, I actually killed dragonite easily but My team idk wtf are they doing, There are 3 opponents on me and they all 4 were still dying from the other 2 , Teams are just useless in Matchmaking

I don’t know if I’m misremembering but didn’t Crustle’s X-Scissor used to be unstoppable? I started playing him after the buffs and I find I am constantly being pushed around/stunned while using it and I don’t remember that happening before.
