There are a few data points that the mainstream media, the government in the Fed continue to point to in order to say the economy is doing great. However, by digging just a couple layers deeper, we can see that all of these data points are actually meaningless and really don't do anything for the average citizen.

Love what you do! This channel has helped me connect so many dots! Bottom line the rich are getting rich while the poor are sliding down and their money is losing value fast! The fact that all these corporate heads are selling off is a major tell! 👀 When they all lay off at same time in first quarter of the year that’s 🚩 and we can guess how things are going to go by election time 😬 increase wages, and immediately pay people off and replace some of the jobs with AI…. Stuff that makes me scratch my head.

This what Republicans have been screaming since Biden was elected. It's not reality. Since Biden took office the economy added more than 14 million jobs. The number is now nearly 4.9 million higher than before the pandemic. The unemployment rate dropped back to just above the pre-pandemic low; unfilled job openings again outnumber unemployed job seekers. the nation’s economy expanded 2.5% in 2023, marking the third straight year of economic growth. The number of people without health insurance has gone down; enrollment in Affordable Care Act marketplace plans is at its highest point yet. The number of people receiving federal food assistance has declined by more than 700,000.

America is currently plagued by the hydra-headed evil duo of inflation and recession. The worst part about this recession is that consumers are racking up credit card debt. In April alone, credit card debt went up 20% while rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

I have been working since 1969 and I can tell you that wage growth has never surpassed the cost of living, that is why we have such inequality. Economists have been screaming this to the politicians for decades but they don't want to listen. A few years ago the Rand corporation did a study on the economy and they published a 60 page report detailing inequality in the U.S., everyone should go to their website and read it. One fact that they discovered was the fact that a person making $50,000.00 a year should really be making $102,000.00. That's the fact. Double what they should be. Scream out loud people.

Another disgusting thing to note about credit card debt is some banks, including BMO Harris Bank, DO NOT charge you interest on the amount you owe. They will charge you interest on your average monthly balance. So, those who make a big payment towards the end of the month but do not pay the balance in full, will still be charged interest as though you owe the entire amount because it is based on your average monthly balance. How is this legal and allowed to happen? It is beyond predatory. There is no buyer protection at all.

We tried to keep the economy running by stimulus/ COVID packages, PPP loans, and low interest rates. Government is just kicking the can down the road until the next election. We will start seeing layoffs this year and recession coming in around Q4. FYI: I've voted Independent for past 2 election cycles (Libertarian prior to that). I've always leaned right on most subjects. But I'm not naive enough to put all the blame on Biden. I will agree the egregious spending is not helping but our economy is suffering from a lot of other factors as well. We need to rip the band-aid off and let the recession happen. Audit the Fed and leave minimum wage alone for a few years. This will correct the market (low demand will build supply).

Credit counseling is a requirement to file a consumer bankruptcy. Perhaps people are preparing to file bankruptcy.

There is record credit card debt. There is record delinquency on those same accounts and auto loans. People are not taking the economy and interest rates seriously. They keep recklessly spending and don’t want to admit they are at least partially to blame when it comes to the numbers. The fed. is not raising interest rates for now but beware. It will happen. More people should pay attention and not look away from their own decline. 👋🏽

100% accurate. At some point the credit card companies will stop issuing credit. People will declare bankruptcy. The whole this will go down in flames.

You're right that they're partly to blame! Like sheep following their leaders, they should know better not to live so carelessly!

Mostly correct. The crdit card companies and banks bear HALF the blame as they idiotically continue granting credit and loans to unqualified, high-risk borrowers. They will also lose big money when the extend credit and loans to those crossing the border illegally with fake IDs and backgrounds. Guess what happens when the person racks up a lot of debt, doesn't pay, and they try to go after them? YEP, they then can't find them or track them because of their fake ID.

Michael, my newest car is an '07; my oldest is a '72. They are relatively cheap to repair. According to Scotty Kilmer, some new cars have as many as 90 computers and are expensive to repair because of their complexity. Yet another example of " The Law of Unintended Consequences".

A friend works at target and has been catching more people than ever trying to steal; they’re stealing food, dog food and necessities. Also they try to return items they never bought for cash. The return section of the store is always full too, they can’t keep it empty, fills up every day.

There are people in this world with no access to food and clean water, homeless, living in real poverty. We forget how extremely privileged we are as a country.. many will be in for a very rude awakening when things actually crash and the grocery stores shut down.

But ALL that credit card debt isn't because of desperate spending. There was RECORD travel last year AND RECORD spending on holidays. Plus restaurants, casinos are packed! These huge corporations had record profits last year and pay a lesser tax rate then most of us!!!!! The 2017 tax break for corporations and the mega rich is a joke! And our taxes go up until 2027 because of that 2017 tax change. It's horrible!!!!!

I imagine the cash is stuff like Black rock then those with that kind of cash laying around or sold a house in California or somewhere expensive and moved to a cheaper state. Some fixer uppers too.
