Greetings from Brisbane, Australia. You have a very impressive shop where you have maximised all of your space. While I have a bigger shop - yours is much better organised for a good workflow.

Why is it so clean like a space laboratory? Wow! "Not overly tidy", my God, what's it like when it's tidy?

Man I’m digging that paint booth/dremel booth. I’m going to be making one of those for sure. Such a simple idea, but seems very effective

Thanks, it really works well. Give it a shot

This was really cool. I have a small "SFX shop" in my garage and I'm always looking to see how other home shops are setup.

Legendary!! The Shea Prop workshop setup is a work of art in its own right. It makes you appreciate and understand the level of detail you bring to your pieces by seeing where they come from. Great video and thanks for the tour.

This is insanely beautiful! Absolutely, otherworldly beautiful! Your layout is so well thought out! Your workshop is what my workshop wants to be when it grows up! I too have some slat wall. How do you keep your slat wall hooks on the wall when you pick up your tool? I bought some of those plastic black clips that twist onto the bottom of the hook face plate, but they don’t seem to work that well on our slat wall. They keep falling off too.

Excellent shop tour Mike! Looks like a great place to work. First thing that came to mind was, how do you keep it so clean? I would think anything on the router table would blast that entire tool wall with dust 🤣Also didn't know you did car audio, I've done all of my own installs for decades now. So you must build custom enclosures and speaker boxes? Look forward to seeing more and I'm sure others will to.

Thanks, I have dust collection below the router lift that creates a great amount of down draft, most of the time it does a really good job of capturing the debris and not scattering it all over the counter. I have also been into car audio since the early 90's, I do enjoy designing and building sub enclosures as well. Though over the years my taste has changed from SPL to Sound-Q.

Thanks for the tour! What lights do you have? Do you happen to have a model number?
@MiddleEarthFanPa Жыл бұрын
For the overhead lights I have (6) LED highbays made by RAB Lighting, the model is H17XL, each light is 240 watts and the group of (6) is on a 0~10v dimmer, this way I can choose how much light I need.

I love the layout, especially the drill press, sander and scroll saw on the French cleat wall. You said they were permanently mounted, does that help with the vibration while using them on the wall?
@MiddleEarthFanPa2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I should have said semi-permanent. I made the mounts for the larger pieces like all the others with the exception that once I had the tools where I wanted then I drilled 4 holes and inserted lag bolts to hold the mount firmly against the wall. If I did want to relocate any of them I could remove the bolts and move the tool.

@@MiddleEarthFanPa gotcha! Thanks for the reply. I think I might try something like that for my smaller tools.

Can't add much praise that hasn't already been said but I would love to know what the full text reads on that profound wife quote plaque 😂

It says, my biggest fear in life is that one day I will die unexpectedly, and my wife will sell all of my swords for the price I told her I paid for them. She had the plaque made for me.
