Spot on David. I cannot remember another time, when in a sporting contest where England/UK/GB were involved...and I was supporting the opponents. He is completely embarrassing, nothing to ever be proud of. Always slagging off the opponent...until after...then typically gives a grudging nod to them, but he always carries on about him him him. This time, even though he lost he still claims to be a 'part' of things, claims how much respect there is etc. , but now he's claiming it's a 'cheat' and Usyk only won because Ukraine are getting sympathy because of the Russian invasion!! What a piece of crap! How sick is someone to claim a victory on the back of people dying and it's just a sympathy thing. Yeah, it was sympathy that got you pummelled and knocked down. It wasn't one sided...but Fury lost. Usyk on the other hand? Full of respect and didn't ( as far as I know) mention the conflict with regards to his win...unless he dedicated it to Ukraine...and if he did, there's nothing wrong in that.

No he's far too smart for that and he's a family man above all else. He'll probably retire after the rematch assuming he wins. Or he may have the AJ trilogy. In any case he's only got 1 or 2 maaaaaaaybe 3 fights left. He's not going back to boxing Chisora or Dubois level fighters. Who is left? Parker? Like the guy but he has 0 chance against usyk. The only question mark is him throwing out going back down to cruiserweight. Maybe half joking?He may do it for legacy? Be the only one to go back down and get undisputed again and separate himself from Lennox but I doubt it...he's spent a lot of time bulking up

Very few people had the bottle to predict this one but you did Propa and you were dead on. Agree totally with you now too, Usyk should retire, he has nothing more to prove but he knows Fury should fight Joshua fir 2nd and 3rd place behind him. If Fury had won this, he would have gained some level of respect despite his poor resume’ and ducking shenanigans. As it is, in his own words, we should now view him as rubbish. He has one last hope of regaining a small measure of respect, fight Joshua.

Fury was just one punch away from lights out! Just look at the point where the ref stepped in and started a standing 8 count. Fury was sitting on the ropes, hands down at his side, head up chin out with Usyk rushing in with his left hand cocked and the crosshair squarely on Tyson's chin. The ref should have let Usyk plant that left and there would have been no more discussion of what was the result.
@chrimony
@chrimony 4 ай бұрын
It was NOT a "standing 8" count. It was a mandatory count after Tyson got knocked down and held up by the ropes. The ref arguably could have made that call earlier, but stopping Usyk from getting that last swing in while Fury was sitting on the ropes was absolutely the right call.

@@danielsonn3046 Yes, but it would be unusual to call off a fight based on a single knockdown, especially one of this magnitude, and especially considering the back and forth nature of the fight. It's usually when a fighter keeps getting knocked down and taking a beating that a ref will call it off, generally when he's nearly out on his feet but not actually falling down. In this case it was clearly a knockdown, the first Fury suffered, so he deserved the chance to resume.

@@CommonSenserules1981 I didn't think the fight was a landslide at all, I scored it very close, either way. Everyone seems to big ignoring how the Wilder rematches went/ Fury messed about in the first Wilder fight and got hurt. Then in 2 rematches ended Wilder's career. Fury literally said in the post-fight conference exactly what I'd been screaming at the tv during the fight, "maybe I was messing around too much, I was having fun in there". Even though I scored it very close, I don't think Fury deserved to win, Usyk does deserve it.

@@Alfred5555 NO. He fared much better against Wilder the following 2 times because Wilder was a hype job & Fury was weak as a kitten the first time after losing 140lbs and poorly prepared with Seferi & Pianeta since 3 years. Usyk vs Fury was close if you're generous to Fury. I had it 116-111, most people have it 116-111/115-112. It could've been as close or wide as 114-113 to 117-110. Rounds 1,2,8,9,10,11 clear for Usyk. The only heavyweights I can think to compare him to are Ali and Marciano. Usyk beating AJ and Fury is the modern day slaying of Liston and Foreman. The fact Usyk is a very similar height and weight to Ali is also pretty interesting. Usyk reminds me also of how Marciano was just this inexhaustible force that would just erode away everyone he fought. Undefeated as well. Usyk being more of a technical master however in comparison, whilst Marciano was an absolute bull of a man.

It was a very simple adjustment - close distance at 11 o'clock and not 12 o'clock and evade Fury's upper cut. Once he started doing that Fury, had no more long range cards to play. He could definitely win the rematch but I hope Uysk does to him what he did to Wlad and retires. Takes two fighters to make a fight, and this was an amazing fight. So full respect to Fury. He did his job. Hyped the fight up big time - which even Team Fury recognised, and then showed up looking sharp. My daughter and I (who both fight / have fought) scored it by two points to Usyk, but if it wasn't for the punch in Round 8 (45 seconds left) which I'm pretty sure broke Tysons nose (I've had one of those shots) then Round 9 would have been very different, and Furys corner. @@RT-hh3vl Maybe that's because, maybe, if everyone agrees on something, they might be right. The scorecards were very very close anyway, it was hardly convincing. I'm not a big Fury fan, I prefer AJ (until he starts complaining) but I am a huge Usyk fan, I was watching him like 5 years ago when his camp mate Lomachenko was all the rage and no one knew Usyk, when Bellew fought Haye I knew Bellew would win, and when Bellew fought Usyk I knew Usyk would win, etc. But this was hardly a big win for Usyk, a rematch is very warranted. And yes, Fury looked finished in the 9th round in a scary way, but are we pretending Usky hits harder than Wilder now? Wilder flattened Fury multiple times, but Fury just got back up again and carried on. Meanwhile, even when Fury seemed to think he'd just finished his Christmas dinner, Usky was exploding on him and couldn't knock him down. The tale of the tape is the fact, not the feelings and fiction we might tell ourselves.
