Jewel is an unstoppable force, possibly one of the most mind-blowing pop singles I can think of. The sound of a breaking wave... , a new generation..

So much better than the pop version that got in the charts. Used to dance like a loon to this when I was out clubbing in the 80's!

My Aunt had their cassette tape in Spain mid 80’s. I used to hear both of these songs over and over. Then decades later thanks to youtube I found it again. I’ve always loved groups like Propaganda and Depeche Mode.

Get the album, A Secret Wish. It's an underground 80s classic, excellent album with not a duff track on it.

See ? This is what can happen when people give a shit about the music they're creating. If you haven't done it already, treat your ears to the album. You won't regret it !

The second part (Jewel) (From 5.10) was the backing music played at the finish for all of the Australian V8 Motor Racing programs / episodes on free to air TV during the mid 80's. It took me a long time to find the artist / song back then. Stunning music. !

There was a lotta crap during this time, this was something different. Moved my interest in music to a different place. Nowadays electronic music is soul less, this was pretty special. Second scott phillip comment from 6 months ago.

aw c'mon... there was shit-loads of good stuff during that time and today's electronic music is certainly not soul-less... the music-sphere is vast, dude... :-)

I fell in love with this band in the 80’s in Austin Texas at the nightclub Halls. The title Jewel has me reanalyzing the song. Any chance it’s the story of an uncut diamond getting carved into a so-called perfect shape to be worn as jewelry? Are we so arrogant as to believe we understand all the places where life exists? Is this genocide?
