Stephen Dre That’d be John K Samson. If you haven’t already, check out The Weakerthans, that’s the band he started after he left. They’re sonically nothing like Propagandhi so don’t expect a similar vibe, but they’re fantastic.

Isn't that Sampson in the background watching Todd, wearing a blue shirt, regretting he moved on from this band?
@IANC4EVER3 жыл бұрын
id say Sampson is greatly missed from Prop cos he brought a contrasting dynamic to the anger of the singer. Instead bassist Todd seems more interested in waving a fist than coming up with any interesting bass lines - can you point me to an interesting bass solo? As for their music, after they went hardcore, we get 3 good songs from each album and 9 BS thrash metal ones. Its a pity, cos with Sampson they really coulda been much more of a 'band' instead of just one trick, hardcore trash metal. 🤷♂️

Goddamnit. I was supposed to see them in May of 96, but the show was held at a VFW. The show was upstairs and apparently there was a wedding reception downstairs, so the cops were called and eventually they maced us in order to get us all out of the building. So I didn't get to see them until 2005. I still have the ticket stub somewhere, but damn it would have been cool to see them then. This is a fucking great video.

What made Chis stop Hailie Salassie, is it because he received some Christian insults since the whole gig is at a Church? Or I heard about somebody "using" as in smoking weed so they'd have to adjourn. He looked piss off. Old Chis was always pissed off but they were never straight edge hmm..

I'm a chem technician, you? Oh I made a typo and wrote in "Chis". He could have been told not to play this song because they were in a church. It's hard to make out what's going on, not the first one to mention that, when they go and start/stop Hailie Salaissie,Up Your Ass.

Why didn't Chris yell the second part of "FUCK THE TROOPS TO HELL!"? I wonder. I've never agreed with that line because it's so personal to many. He did say in a 2015 interview when asking what kids should or shouldn't do: "Don't shoot your mouth off too much when you're 22." The phrasing was wrong. I respect his POV, one thing annoys me is the psuedo punks pretending to follow his message.
