East Bay Ray is a great guitarist

What Sulynn describes at around 8:40 is exactly how I felt when I first bought a Propagandhi tab book. I was so amazed by the variety that occured. The entire fretboard is used, there's chords involving muted strings, there's open B and e strings, etc. Propagandhi has greatly expanded my out-of-the-box thinking when it comes to music. Not everything has to be power chords.

Now this is some great content. Sulynn killed it, that Jag is drool-worthy as well.

God, love watching Sulynn play and listening to her guitar knowledge. Been playing in punk/hardcore bands for over 30 years, and I couldn't even touch her talent. Lol

That band has been brilliant since Today's Empires but my gosh Sulynn has brought a new dimension to it all, and every time I've heard them talk about the guitar, I think: Those fuckin' old guys shoulda found them sooner.

this song has always seemed very "random" to me, like I don't understand how they composed it. very impressive. also, genuinely did not know that Propagandhi was still around.

I’ve been looking for a guitar sound like this. Is it the amp cranked? If not what OD pedal was used here? Thanks for a cool video! 👍🏻

Most of the stuff I see from the big guitar company's is not as real as this video. A Fender through a Fender and talent is refreshing.

Not being negative but what's the point in having someone who didn't write the song explain the song?
@ULOVEKYLE3 жыл бұрын
because it was a great explanation shit for brains.
@efa6663 жыл бұрын
@@ULOVEKYLE I didn't say it wasn't, just saying I'd rather hear something she wrote, I mean the point of this channel is to promote orjginal music and not covers.
@premierguitar3 жыл бұрын
The overall point of the the Hooked video series is for a guitarist to explain a song (they either heard or learned) that sparked their interest in music/the instrument. A sort of homage/thankful gesture to those that inspire.
@efa6663 жыл бұрын
@@premierguitar that's fair enough, didn't mean my comment in a negative way but I probably could have worded it better.
