I was always frustrated from the results of rooting a "side shoot" which was allowed to curve upwards. Those ended-up growing into a tall and spindly succulent which could not stand on its own without support as well as being top heavy. I usually take from the tip down as much of the "straight" segment as possible. Once it caluses, I plant it. This creates a short and stocky stem which can grow well.

I know she is selling plants and that specific plant is for that purpose BUT I can’t help to feel sorry for that poor plant always been picked on. Plants do have feelings and this just seems wrong. It doesn’t even look that healthy. It seems like a sad life for that poor plant to have just to make money. But I’m sure most people are “ok” with this anyway ☹️
@LeeDfined
@LeeDfined 3 жыл бұрын
Now you are right in a sense. But its the cycle of life. I am working on becoming a vegetarian out of my love of animals. And I love plants obviously. But we humans have to be able to do something. Cutting a plant to spread the love AINT gonna hurt.
@roselynmvm
@roselynmvm 3 жыл бұрын
@@LeeDfined I can see your point as well, but I don’t fully agree with it. Just because it’s not hurting you doesn’t mean is not hurting the plant. What I’m talking about in here is EXCESS. It is excessive the way this plant is being taken advantage of. They could easily have several plants that they pick on, and not just one that takes all the beating. Like I said in my original comment, most people are ok with this, which is very bizarre. I know I’m not going to get any sympathizers, but that does NOT mean it’s ok to treat a plant in this way, or that the plant doesn’t suffer. Everything that’s alive suffers when it’s being mutilated. There are better approaches out there and the one in this video ain’t it. And the plant is not being cut to “spread the love”. It’s being cut because of making money. Big difference. I don’t feel is very altruistic or neither related to the cycle of life. Plants are not born to get dismembered constantly. That nothing has to do with the cycle of life, but it definitely has a lot to do with dirty capitalism.
