I normally don't use a lot of thyme, but, this year I learned to make a thyme and ginger tea for lung issues. I think next year I am going to grow my own thyme since we are using so much of it. Thank you for your video. This seems so very simple!

For lung issues, you can also add Plantain (Ribwort) leaves in with your thyme tea. Equal measures thyme and plantain… it is an incredible medicinal tea/infusion for the lungs, throat and the respiratory system in general. Helps clear out phlegm pretty fast and the tea blend Tastes nice too. I see this post is 2years old now, so I’m wondering how are you getting on? How are the lungs now? Did the thyme ginger tea work for you or help alleviate symptoms? Also how are you getting on with growing thyme? Do you have your own thyme plants now? If you are growing, can I also ask, Are the thyme plants your friends? or are they just grown to be harvested for your cooking and medicinal teas?

This sort of thing is one of the few times I will use those biodegradable one use extra small cardboard or newspaper/toilet paper roll pots. The reason is because if you get impatient and plant the thyme too early, there is a very good chance that it won't matter since you aren't disturbing the already grown, or not quite grown yet roots. You never see the roots. In general there is less chance of root damage.

@ibby Hey! I am growing my Thyme indoors, my method was a little different to get them going and rooted. It adds an extra step, but for the next time that you are propagating your thyme. Strip the leaves off of the bottom half of the thyme like in the video. Then get a small bottle or even a shot tall shot glass and place them in the cup or shot glass with water in it. Make sure there aren't any leaves in the water because that can cause the water to become a little icky. Change the water every 3-5 days to keep it fresh and after a week and a half, you will have your roots. Then once you have roots, take your little pot and dig a fairly deep hole for the roots and put it in the container or whatever you are going to be growing them in. And make sure the roots are completely buried with little to no leaves in the ground. Make sure that it is either standing on its own or that you are supporting it. After about a week and a half, the roots will have searched out through the soil and began to create their root system, and will start growing. P.S Sorry I'm a year late, but to anyone reading this. I hope this helps you.
