While we were living on a plot somewhat north of Pretoria back in the 1980s, I noticed that marula seeds had sprouted in the cattle kraal. As an experiment, my wife and I took about 100 seeds and tossed them into a shallow hole.We covered them with cattle dung and watered them when they looked a bit dry. To state that we were NOT expecting the result would be an understatement, as almost every kernel of every seed produced a sprout. I am erring on the side of conservatism if I say we achieved a 95% success rate. The moral of the tale is this: if you want to grow marula trees, feed them raw, unadulterated cow dung in the beginning.

@@kennethjamesyumang2473 Just leave the seeds exactly as they are. If you have cattle, allow them to eat the whole marulas and watch for sprouted seeds in the kraal (pen). When you transplant, ensure that you take a good pile of dung when you lift them, so that you do not disturb the roots. Otherwise, don't do anything to the seeds when planting in fresh dung: you may have to transplant some again if all the kernels sprout, else they will crowd and battle for survival. When transplanting, ensure that they have a generous pile of dung to feed them. Best of luck!
