Hi. I was wondering what the the Auto-feathering system senses?

It senses negative torque.

Hello first thanks for the effort making the video, second I am playing a game that is pretty semi realistic as far as flight models etc, it will allow me to use prop feathering but I am not quite sure I understand how t can be used? Am I right in thinking say if my plane is in game gets hit in the engine area it can cause major loss of power and oil pressure so would I increase or decrease feathering to help keep it in the air? Can you explain that , thanks.

Cliff, the feathering system is provided to reduce drag when the engine shuts down in flight. So, in your game, if the engine shuts down, then feathering the propeller will reduce drag (assuming the propeller can still windmill) and allow the aircraft to glide further.

@@RoddyMcNamee OK. got it thanks, also it allows you to adjust pitch 0-100% is lowering it going to be better for no power landing?

Cliff Walker . Feather position is when pitch is at 100%. It is better to keep it at 100% when doing a no power landing.

@@RoddyMcNamee Ok I understand now, thanks again, now I should be able to limp back when my engine gets hit, cool!

What's the mechanism of sensing the negative torque or how it senses the torque ??? Can u make a vdo on that topic?? 🙏plz

Here is a video on torque measurement. It works on the principle of oil pressure. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmrUq2ili7aAeqs
