Fantastic video. Correlation of screw with propeller was very well explained.

This is a simply great video. This really demystifies the difference between blade angle and blade pitch!

Thank you very much for this video! It's very easy to understand. This helped me a lot in my Aircraft Propeller class especially because we are having online classes instead of face-to-face so it was hard for me to understand this topic but your video helped so much!

What will the angle of advance be with the aircraft stationary but propellers running?
@RoddyMcNamee4 ай бұрын
@@gopikrishnanmenon5035 The angle of advance will be zero, which if you think about it makes sense as the aircraft won't have advanced.

If I was given motor power, and desired diameter, how would I optimize a new propeller design to maximize amount of airflow?
@RoddyMcNamee2 жыл бұрын
Mass flow of air = density x area of prop disc x velocity. If for a given altitude the density and area of the disc (based on prop diameter) are fixed, then the only thing left to vary is velocity. The velocity can be considered as the sum of aircraft velocity and inflow factor. The inflow factor depends on the prop efficiency. So, to maximize the mass flow of air trough the prop, the prop should be operated at the optimum angle of attack (where lift to drag is a max) to maximize efficiency and inflow factor.

In your video "Propeller Static Thrust Equation" you mentioned that the efficiency of a propeller is around 85%, do in many your videos about Froude's momentum, you mentioned that the efficiency is around that number. My question is, what is the relation between efficiency and that slip, which its unit also percentage?
@RoddyMcNamee Жыл бұрын
Have a look at this video, it shows slip, the advance ratio and efficiency. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rafKh4Sfopt2b5Ysi=0Yu2css9pCWa-Tru

Sir ,but how to find pitch angle if we are gonna design new propeller and we have only the diameter of propeller?!!!
@RoddyMcNamee3 жыл бұрын
@Roaring Aero you'll need more information than the diameter. You'll need to know the cruise speed of the aircraft and the cruise RPM.
