My top screen just broke and currently trying to figure out how replacing the screen would go if I attempted it Thank you!

Hi, If you are going to attempt the repair, watch as many times as you can on replacing, not just my video but others until you are comfortable with the process. 90% propylene alcohol helps to free two sided taped surfaces as well as stickers. Make sure to have all the right spudgers and screwdrivers. Lastly have patience and take your time and take pictures as you go as there are many different types of screws and part orientations. Thank you for the comment and wish you good luck if you decide to take on this project. Consider commenting again if attempted, good or bad, as this will help others decide if they also want to take on a project like this.

In my opinion any console can get damaged from misuse and have seen even the switch bent like a banana from smashing on a knee. I try to give advice to customers about electronic care as they are all sensitive to misuse. Thank you for the feedback.

Just dropped mine. The left hinge broke off and ripped the ribbon cable.

Will definitely need a new screen, the hinge might be salvaged. Hope you get it repaired. Thank you for the comment.

You don’t have to take the front plastic piece off to get the lcd off you can just take it off from the back 🤦♂️

The front black plastic has screws hidden underneath that hold the shell together for this unit. To access the lcd these screws need to be removed. This makes installation of new lcd easier to access the ribbon easier. I appreciate all suggestions and in my experience sometimes taking it apart a step further creates an easier repair. Thank you for your feedback.

I have seen all manner of electronics damaged from all age groups. I can only educate about the care needed to have electronics have a long life and not end up in the dump. Thank you for the feedback.
