Punching a hole in the top edge of the condensed milk tin with a tin opener is what my dad taught me when making sweet tea. Made it easier then cutting the whole lid off

I'm glad you do the bread thing & it's not just me! As I'm doing my packed lunch I'm silently thinking 10x taste the difference brown, pound, 5 cheese, 70p, 5 ham 80p. Mustard and spread negligible but let's round to 3.00 for a heaving box. Takes about as long as my kettle to boil. I don't know, sincerely. Can you get a "big" Mac for that now? Keep up the good EXPOSURE!!!

Hi DJ been watching quite a few of your videos. As we are out in the Lincolnshire country side . We are always taken aback at the prices you have to pay. Try The Ragged Apron in Woodhall Spa. Breakfast £5 a bomber breakfast £9 Sunday Lunch £9 50 . Excellent staff lovely atmosphere.. Best value in the area and excellent tasting grub. Worth a visit if your ever passing by.

Absolutely love your view! On a par to my top floor west facing landscape in south Edmonton, Alberta.! I pay a ‘king’s ‘ ransom for Cumberland sausage at the British pantry in our West Edmonton Mall! That being said, as I am more than passing through my twilight years (77) I am turning more and more to the wonderful comfort food I grew up with in Lincolnshire. As one grows older, suddenly you are faced with many dietary restrictions. For me, I am plagued with lactose and gluten intolerance.. However, I am doing my darkest to recreate foods I really want to enjoy. Dining out, once a joy in my life is no longer a viable option. I absolutely love your charm and presentation and honesty. Keep doing what you have been blessed with. I shall continue to to watch and support your channel.💕🇨🇦🇬🇧

Loved the idea of comparing eating out with 'doing it all at home'. The good lady, my pal from the UK and I often discuss this very subject, and go around in circles. In the end we arrive at the conclusion that despite the extra cost (obviously), we do need to occasionally get out of the place, mix with people and try different food, (even if it is to complain). The compromise that we've arrived at, has been to reduce our trips out to eat, and instead make sure we purchase the best ingredients we can afford for our meals at home. One thing for sure, the savings are considerate. Another thing we tried to figure out is the coffee made at home versus coffee from a cafe. I don't have the flash kit that I see you operate with (read envious into that). Instead a humble expresso contraption sits on the stove top or camp stove for a pretty reasonable coffee. By my reckoning I make a coffee for less that 50c per person at home (25p?). That's about 10% of the cost to have it out. However, the taste I manage to get is not even close to a good cafe. That is for sure. And if they have good service, pleasant surroundings and feeling of 'welcome', then that is gold. Thanks again. I enjoyed your thoughts & tips on eating at home.

Excellent sausage sandwich Darren, perfect ingredients, though I don't tend to buy the brands. What I like to do with the fried onions is add a bit of balsamic towards the end (though if adding brown sauce I wouldn't bother). Gives it a nice tang, perfect on a hotdog with a bit of the mustard of your choice.

Darren does your oil spray work with any oil? I bought a filled spray but my hands are weak so it wouldn’t work. I got a bottle of olive oil with my grocery delivery yesterday but for obvious reasons I want to use it from a spray bottle. Yours looks easy but then again you’re so much stronger than me.
