To keep your saw running smoothly, make sure it’s getting enough water to cool the chain and clear out abrasive slurry. You’ll need a water supply delivering at least 1.5 bar (20 psi) with a flow rate of 8 lpm (2 gpm). A quick tip: when the saw is connected to water, pull the chain to the side-if the water stream shoots up 30-45 cm (12-18 in), you’re saw has the appropriate pressure.
It’s crucial to have the right amount of pressure because too little water flow will wear the chain out and too much pressure will reduce cutting efficiency.
