I have to say, it's really good to have someone like this for 2 reasons. 1, because I have an actual means of support for the exam, but also because I get to see the community stance on the papers. I'm absolutely terrified by this test, but I feel that regardless of the result it's been very helpful learning from you. Thank you!

Got called a maggot, got virtually no marks on paper 1, did all of paper 2 but a lot of guesswork... I spent about 50 hours in the last week revising questions from all of your videos, only for the real thing to be virtually nothing like even 2023, which people said was hard. Genuinely Drew, I can't believe your content wasn't helpful, because it's the best stuff out there and even then it didn't help me. Thank you so much anyway. You've genuinely been the only reason I've been able to function up until the test day. Just a shame the paper didn't reflect that.

@@richtigmann1No one will be able to memorise the questions word by word. All I can say is there is no point stressing and losing sleep over it (if you’re doing it tomorrow & are sitting the same exact papers) because the questions are completely different than anything I have ever seen before. There’s simply no way you can practice that. (I have done every TMUA paper 3-4 times)

Any advice for questions involving maximising areas with differentiation? I particularly struggle with forming the initial equations for these.
@evieiscool5552 ай бұрын
Write down everything you know. Even if it’s not in the question you can assign variables for things. It’s a set method always. Find surface area, find volume. Put an equation in terms of one variable and then solve.

I just did the papers (17th October). The papers weren't as hard as people were saying. I guess maybe the paper on the 17th was easier than it was on the 16th, but Idk. I would assume the questions are different for each day to prevent cheating.

@ZaWarudo_TokiWoTomare2 ай бұрын
@chaska8144 I was doing badly on the specification papers, lol. I started getting like 7/20 in all papers. Then I got better and better with each paper. I did all the papers timed. Then, I marked it and looked for mistakes on my own. Then I looked at a walkthrough of the paper I did. Then, I move on to the next paper. For the 2023 papers, I got 25/40 (so not really good but decent enough for an interview at Cambridge Maths). My only regret was that I never had time to redo any of the papers. I have been preparing since August.
