Good morning from Idaho. Here's a good one Mike. I used to live in Maine. Get this, I bought a new gm truck in 98. Bought it on the family plan. And traded the wife's van. So for a truck that lists for 41k with the family plan and the trade in I paid about 26k. Maine has an excise tax. So when you register your vehicle every year you pay thousands. It's been a long time Mike and I'm 69 but on a truck I paid 26k for I Paid 7k excise tax on the full amount 41k. So I moved to Idaho and this year paid 96 dollars to register my 1 ton diesel dually. And have better roads better hunting and fewer democrats. Win win win

Speaking of trespassers. A friend of mine has wooded property adjacent to a housing development. One of the home owners took it upon themselves to cut his fence and setup a fire pit and chairs on his property behind their home. They treated him like he was the bad guy when he asked them to clean everything up.

I’m glad you mentioned the kiln dryer at the end of the video. The whole time you were thinking out loud I was thinking of the kiln. If your baskets will fit, my thought is to dump it loosely into modified baskets to kiln dryer. When dry set a basket next to the wrapper and pull wood directly from the basket. When modifying the baskets maybe fabricate a bottom hinged panel to allow easy access to the bottom of the basket when unloading. Except for splitting the wood you are only handling it one time.

You may not believe this story of mine. On Monday I was out with my pick-up truck, and got stopped by the police. The reason, I was driving an unregistered vehicle. When I watched your video of you forgetting to register your vehicle, I thought to myself, "how could you forget that?' Well I know now ii is easy enough to do. I have never forgotten before this and I've been doing this since 1968. P.S. It expired at end of May. So far it will cost me $324.00 , which I may get reduced when I see the Magistrate. Registration Fee, $40.25. ( I only pay balance of fiscal year).

Good evening Mike. I use my iPhone calendar for making appointments, birthdays, reminders and so forth. You can set it up to remind you annually about purchasing you truck tabs. The nice thing about setting it up in my phone is the reminders show up on my iPad and Mac as well. I gave up using calendars as I use my phone every day. Just my two cents. Wishing Melissa good luck on her deer hunt.

Mike - I was one of the orders for fire starter that sold out in 8 hours. After holding off and watching all your videos, I decided to try a bag. It's everything you have been saying and well worth the cost. I'm done with paper, egg cartons, scrounging for kindling, etc. - a hand full between the bottom firewood stack, close the glass doors and forget it. It just works! So much easier way to start the woodstove so I'm sold. Will be ordering more. Thanks for a great product and channel. My best to the entire Morgan Family - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to look forward to after the dark years...

Mike after you thaw a lock out spray WD-40 or silicone spray in the lock . That will displace moisture in the lock and lubricate it . A once of prevention is worth a pound of cure .

Growing up we always had those little bottles of de-icer around. They had a red tip on them and you just put it in the keyhole and push. It would spray de-icer in the keyhole and instantly thaw out the keylock. Do you guys remember them? Also, saw a tip where you take a lighter, heat your key, and then stick it in the keyhole. Pretty cool too.

Hi Mike. Great video. Ice build-up! 🤬😡😠😤🤔 I had great & cheap hand held electric heater. It works so well. I had 2 inches of ice one winter. Our cellar door was " iced shut!" The following spring. I did a " water gutter system " around that cellar door. It worked great. That was a nightmare of a winter! Expensive penalty & re-- registration license.WHEW! 😅😅😅😅😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨🤔🤔🤔🤔 Bundle firewood: Agree. You need to keep it clean. A good quality 1 inch chicken fencing? To line the totes with? Or. A cheaper way? You want to keep your cost down. You need a roof to cover it. I agree. NEVER BUNDLE GREEN WOOD! As a retired dry firewood logger of 37yrs. I already know that. The bundle will have less amount too. Good luck Melissa! 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜⚘️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🦌 Say Hi to Melissa, Melissa's dad, Eva, Hunter, Levi, Tyler, & Hannah. On your small bundle firewood: You can use the IBC totes but if you use the bags they will probably snag where the wood pushes against the grid of the tote. If you line the inside of the tote with cardboard you should be able to pull the bag right out with a lot less trouble. I really do think that you already had the solution. Split into the dump bed then raise the bed so it's easier to stack in the totes. Maybe leave most of the liners in the IBC Tote and cut the tops off so that it's easier to stack. Drill holes all over the liner to allow for airflow??? Put the top piece back on and either weight it down or put something on top to keep it from blowing away? That should allow some airflow and keep most of the firewood dry(ish).

Hey, Mike, you can take and those container or those bladders that come out of those. You can water containers that you take out of the wood frames or the metal frames take them and cut them at an angle to where they sit like a angle roof on to the top of the right metal frames that you stack your wood in and then they'll make a rain. Shed, that will keep your wood dry.

Mike: here in Ontario we do not pay for our vehicle registration anymore. You just walk in and they fill out the paperwork and you walk back out registration free. Mike you should get a Dewalt heat gun that runs on a battery. I have one and it works really well. For the small firewood how about 1/4" screen. The real heavy duty stuff for farms. I use it to keep the birds from getting into my tractor shed. I am sure that you will come up with a better way. Mike I cut the top and bottom off the IBC totes plastic bladder and throw it back in the basket. It helps hold the firewood in and helps keep the rain splash out. I also use the plastic cutoff top to cover the firewood after the tote is full. At first, I thought this might inhibit drying, but found it to be the opposite at least here in Southern California. The sun just seems to kind of bake it like an oven and it dries really fast.

Tilt the totes (somehow) while receiving the "just cut" firewood. This way you will have everything standing vertical when full. While bundling and drawing off pieces from the top, the lower levels will stay vertical. Or use round stock feed troughs set on side. It can sit on the forks, while tilted slightly back. In regards to your IBC totes and firewood, if you still have some of your old chain link fence that you tore out, suspend that inside the totes with large nylon wire ties at the top rail. I agree with putting wire inside totes. Borrow Haus’s rebar tie tool and wire it in place. No issues with heat of kiln and no bags to mess with. If ya must bundle, you already have the plastic wrap device but if I was buying I would rather just bring buckets.

We typically wouldn't cut something like silver maple for firewood... but what is nice about maple otherwise is it leaves a good bed of coals, it doesn't pop much if you burn it in a fireplace (many of us also had fireplaces back then), it splits better/easier with an axe (hydraulic splitters were uncommon), it burns clean, it smells good... We were happy to get oak, or what we called an ironwood tree, etc., but they were harder to work with and split.

Use the tank that's in the tote. Cut the backet like you always do. Cut the tank across the top across the edge. Cut the bottom across the bottom edges opposite of the top. Cut the sides up the side edge connecting the top and bottom Cut now you have two halves. One tank would do two baskets . Air could move threw the wood tank sides you face to the side to keep rain and snow from blowing in. No cost same tools you use on the cage. And it will stay clear with the ends covered from the sides.

The license plate covers are illegal. Not that I do illegal stuff, it's just that the stickers are legal so.....why not. Like you mention, it's just another way we're slowly losing our freedom and rights. Stay vigilant 👊

Good morning Mike, referring to your small size firewood stacking for small stoves and etc… its a long shot but why couldn’t you line the inside ibc totes with a piece of 1/2 or 3/4 piece of plywood wired to the sides to keep the smaller pieces from falling through the holes. this way, all you would have to do is dump the tote when it is full using the small skid loader. Just an idea to think about. Plus you could cut slits or drill smaller holes for ventilation.

In Florida your registration expires on your birthday unless its a commercial vehicle so that make it easy to remember. Plus they remind us by sending reminders in the mail a couple months before it expires.

I know what you mean about trying to figure out a better way to accomplish something. In my woodshop, I frequently go through the different tools and techniques I can use to make a cut. Some are no brainers, while others require some thought to figure out what method or saw to use to make a safe, accurate, and/or efficient way to make the cut.

Another great video! Ive never really been a big Can-Am fan but I really like your new buggy. We live in south AL so I don't really need the heat but the A/C would be nice in our hot humid summers.. And as always Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless you and your family!

I have a lot of red "swamp" maple on my property. I have been thinning that out over the years, not great firewood but it keeps me warm. The thinning helps the oak and hickory thrive.

not great but still fair firewood and IMO still marginally better than cherry unlike what he said, he is right about the ashes residue though

Mike, I believe that if the stretch wrap is applied correctly, it will shrink with the wood and keep it tight. I was always taught to stretch the wrap at least 50% when it’s applied. Check the specs on your wrap.

Mike, I'd line inside with a little fencing mesh wired into the tote.

Mike, get some Hurricane fencing wire and line the baskets with it by tying it to existing basket frame with tie wire!!! I’m sure it will work like a charm!!!!

I bought a few Flex-M with the spypoint 5W solar panels. They are on tresspasser patrol. So far so good.

New York State sends out emails to remind us to pay up for licensing and registration. Get some wire fence (aka chicken wire) and line the IBC totes to prevent the smaller pieces of wood from escaping. Glad that Hunter is ok and things are back to normal. Great video thumbs up.

That is freaking crazy, Mike. I have a 2005 F'in 250. Titled in Florida, with a personalized tag. 156.00. No wonder policy enforcement has tag readers on there cars.
