I lived the the duplex shown at the 2:00 point (180-B Finback Street) for 2 years from 1975-1977. It was a crazy time and I was crazy memories of it all (I was 12 years old). The video brought back a lot of memories., Thanks for posting!

I lived in the 180-A unit here seen at the 7:52 mark. We were there during Pinatubo and were evacuated that summer.

Next time you are out could you possibly show 89a Finback? I lived there for almost five years in the early 80's. Best years of my life.

The OP is right. Upper Kalayaan where the park is located was built in 1985- my family was one of the first tenants. It even had central air! The duplex was in the stage of settling when we moved in. My brother and I knew exactly what steps to avoid when walking up the stairs so we didn’t wake our parents when we missed curfew. Good times!

West Kalayaan was our neighborhood in 1961. It was Navy officer's housing. My father was the Supply Officer and we rated a home in this nice place. There was a swimming pool, snack bar and an outdoor movie theater down the hill. I attended 2nd and 3rd grades at the elementary school on base.

Good memories there in the 70's. It still looks pretty much the same, not as well maintained perhaps but still nice.

Yes I feel the same way. What’s all that botanical on the lower roof and ivy growing everywhere? Did you notice the bus stops? Spent many nights hovered in one talking to friends & using it to catch the bus to the main gate. Memories abundant!

Man you gotta exercise, Iam in Jomtien Pattaya and here we’ve always been able to go outside and do whatever you want. I’ve been doing weights indoors and jogging around 3 miles everyday and feel fitter than I’ve ever been and I’am 67 years old, 6ft and 82 kilos, try to give yourself a goal to motivate yourself you will feel better

I live in Angeles City and I used to walk my neighbors dog. Dogs would often attack me or they would bark and bark. I stopped walking the dog.

Hawaii is expensive in part because only U.S. flagged ships can deliver from the marineland. Goods have to go thrhough a collection and distribution center before put on a container to ship to Hawaiu making it expensive.
@xpusostomos4 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing only US ships can avoid custom control, but surely other ships can still go on?

Being military we shopped at the PX and commissary while we lived there. Which makes goods less expensive. I could not afford to live in HI as a civilian.

Kalayaan and Benictican were built prior to 1960 as housing for military families. We lived in Kalayaan in 1963-64. It was an exciting place to live as a 12 year old. It's nice to see the houses well maintained and remodeled.
