Very well done video. No BS. Just solid information with great demos to boot, for us learning challenged people. 😄 Pretty darn good photography as well. I don't yet have this heater, but very interested in making a portable "suitcase" unit that can be used in either the back of my canopied pickup, or my Shiftpod tent. I really appreciate the detail you have put into this.

Excellent video, too many people are under the illusion that these propane heaters are maintenance free. We have not found this to be the case. How often would you recommend cleaning the propex heater in this manner? Also do you happen to know where you can get replacement igniters and omron sensors that this heater uses in the USA? Thanks for your help!

Thanks. Depending on your usage. Generally gas appliances in campervans/ RVs should be inspected and cleaned every year. As for the spare parts I'm not too sure in US. You get them easily on ebay uk etc

Thanks for a quick reply. We are currently troubleshooting a 4 flash combustion fault error with our propex. Last time we ended up having to send the heater in to Van Cafe because we were unable to obtain the parts in 2022 but hopefully if we need some we can find them this year. Thanks for the advice and info!@@AutoBuddynz

nice video, do you have any advice , while testing my brand new heater I hooked up my positive and negative leads wrong on my battery, it smoked my mother board so I bought a new mother board and installed it and I got a new thermostat, now I'm still getting 5 flashing lights and it wont reset, so I guess there's still a problem somewhere any advice , thank you

once again its brand new never used just tested it about 3 times before the screw up so no dirt or dust of any kind in the unit, so my guess it has to be something electronic

I haven't tested the solenoid like you did in the video so I'll give it a try, thank you

@@katesteadman9863 Assuming you checked the gas bottles, valve if fitted and lines? Any fault code visible via the red led light?

These are absolute junk. Only Work in perfect conditions. Cant believe they are still on the market.

Not as good as the new diesel heaters, but I've found them to work well once serviced, very efficient even at -2 deg C

“Absolute junk”? Haha! How many Propex heaters breaking down have you heard about? They are solid. I’ve had mine for 4 years and it has performed flawlessly. Obviously, dirt and debris getting sucked into the fire chamber can impact performance. This one was extremely dirty. All he had to do is clean it out. Have you ever had a diesel heater? They require constant maintenance.
