Prophet 6 Patch Installation Walkthough (works with OB-6)

In this video, we will cover the basics on how to install Factory or Custom Patches to your Prophet 6 (also works with the OB-6). We do recommend backing up all your current patches because when you install patches, they will overwrite the original backs that they where saved to prior to exporting to SysEx files. Feel free to ask questions below.

I’m very sorry about that happening to you. I was unaware of that you’d be forced to overwrite with this method. I’ll make sure to mention that in a future video. There’s more ways of doing this now.

I'm so sorry buddy, I don't have a PC at the moment but it should be similar to the OSX process. Just make sure Midi-OX is set to transmit to the prophet and you should be good to go. Sorry!!

Unfortunately MIDI-OX doesn't work for my OB6 even if I follow this exactly. When I hit transmit the OB6 just plays a tone like I sent a midi note and the program/patch does not change. Then the OB6 is kind of stuck until I change program/patch back and forth. I am running Windows 10 64bit. The app seems to work even though but doesn't transmit correctly.

Could also explain how to switch globals to USB if it's not selected...

Hit global and when its on the red light hit #9. Use the select buttons to scroll through the options. You will have MIDI, USB, BOTH. Pick the one you want and hit global till the lights above it turn off and you are good.

How to load patches made for bank 0 (000-099) into bank 1 (100-199) ?

With this method it's currently not possible. However, if you buy the prophet editor from sound tower they have a way of doing it in a much easier fashion. It's just not going to be free unfortunately. Here's the link: www.soundtower.com/prophet6/
