Hazrat Umar has always been my hero.. I always cry whenever his name comes up.. The world will never get a leader like him till the day of qiyamah.. When the famine came in medina during the time of hazrat Umar's rule.. Hazrat Umar was the caliph so people wanted to treat him like a ruler and they somehow arranged for hazrat Umar some food. But hazrat Umar always turned his face away from the food and said "when my children and women are hungry, how can i act deaf, blind to their cries and eat this meat with tyranny." "I will curse myself if i even have a single bite of it. Give it to the children and the needies. I'll fill my stomach with some bread and oil." Indeed there's a reason why our prophet SAW said "if there was to be a prophet after me it would be omar."
