Ok, so first yard sale video of the year. I want to make it clear the lady was perfectly fine with the deal. This wasn't a situation where she felt bad about it. She was aware of what she had and was wrapping up her ebay business. I've been there before myself selling off my Ebay inventory to other resellers to get out of the game in the past. You do not get top dollar when you do this. She realized it when dealing with me. She did not want $300 from me. She merely mentioned that's what she had in the perfume lot. Who knows how much of that she sold before selling the boxes to me? I'll probably have a fair amount of time ahead before I actually flip all of this. There will be a ton of work involved as I mentioned in replies to other comments. Comping, photographing, listing, inventory, storage, customer service, shipping the orders, dealing with returns, buyer fraud issues, shipping claims, etc. Not to mention costs like shipping, supplies, fees, etc. These are the sort of low cost of goods that are needed to keep a reselling business afloat. I get that I put myself and my business out for the public to view and that opens me up to criticism. Fair enough. But, before people post their "I'm ashamed of you Dustin" comments I wanted to provide additional context. I'll continue making yard sale videos and sharing my adventures and awesome pick ups while giving you a realistic perspective of what it takes to succeed in this business.

No prices, you have to ask.....I detest that. Oh boy, the perfume samples went from $1 to .25c???? She wasn't prepared. As an Ebay seller, she over bought. And it just got overwhelming for her. She should take it to a flea market, pay the table price. Everything $1.

The more items you add to the bundle of course the more time it will take to sell, you are literally ADDING MORE. There is no situation where ADDING more to a bundle will take you LESS time to list/sell. You are actually a genius for coming up with this concept. Start at a fixed bundle price ($200) and keep letting the seller add things until you are happy with the bundle but as they add stuff just keep saying that it is more work for you so they have to keep adding stuff to make up for all the work they are giving you.

I would have already exited stage left. The folks who really don't want to sell their stuff make me crazy. I never let what I want to buy out of my hands, I pick up a bag, box, or basket and keep my stuff together. I could barely watch this because this seller was so wishy washy and slow.

What a great haul. She clearly said at one point she wanted $200 and would add stuff to get you to that amount. I don't think you too advantage of her at all. That's the nature of yard sales. You didn't make her take it and she seemed happy. It seemed like she just wanted to get rid of stuff.

I do have a peeve with people who look up asking prices on eBay with (not necessarily sold prices) and assume they can get anything near that on their driveway from random passers-by. eBay has millions of potential buyers. Yard sales do not.

I never leave stuff alone at estate/garage sales I have a carry bag and keep everything with me. Don't apologize to people if you haven't done anything wrong. Just politely say, that is my pile also madam and repeat the stuff to them just in case they think you are lying to them.

Great scores, you certainly have more patience than I do. I can relate to the lady picking up some of perfume, she probably didn’t realize you were negotiating for all of it, I’ve had people do that to me when I was negotiating on buying all the jewelry on the table. I be even had to slap a few hands because they wouldn’t listen. When I hear people say it goes for this much on eBay I ask them “is this a eBay store?” That either wakes them up or really pisses them off. Either way it’s all good. Keep up the good work. I think that was a case of the old saying "cutting off your nose to spite your face". There was so much good stuff at that sale. If she had kept looking , she could have found the Cutco knives and other things before you added them to your pile.

You've probably found out by now but you pay the shipping yourself (about 10-12 for you!) to send pieces back to the Cutco factory then they charge $9 return shipping and it takes about 2 weeks to get them back. They only sharpen for free but not sure with a broken tip if they'd replace!

Recently mailed four 20-year-old Cutco knives to be re-sharpened. I had $25 invested in shipping to and from as the actual sharpening is free. One trimmer had a broken tip that I hoped would be replaced but didn't mention it. Not only did they replace that one but they replaced another identical one and the pairing knife, too! So I got three free knives at a value of over $250 for my $25 investment. Great company!

I gotta say i thought that sale was gunna be a bust with the prices she was shooting out and then talking about she sold at one point and the samples sell for $7 i was like yeah not gunna workout. Then she was like the bolo whisperer, i got vintage barbie, i got cutco. Ended up being a pretty sweet deal. Should be able to break even off the cutco and barbie stuff and the rest is profit

We all get beat to the chase now and then. And really and truly the delays in pricing played into everything. Organization and efficiency before putting stuff out will stave off most issues and streamline everything for all parties involved. And I don't know how many videos I've watched of yard sales where people's pile of stuff was wanting to be reclaimed by other patrons. Maybe some boxes set aside out of view or a big shopping bag would dissuade the reclaimers. You handled it well despite the hurdles and what not of this particular sale.

Had to share this. Just bought a big plastic tub, don’t know exact size. It maybe 3’ x 2’ x 2’ container literally FILLED with vintage cameras, lenses, Sony professional Walkman’s, Sony and Panasonic voice recorders and Polaroid cameras. The lenses are Carl zeiss and there’s at least 20 of them. I asked the guy what he wants for the whole tub and he said $20....... this was on top of the massive pile of new in the box Lionel train sets and vintage Christmas stuff that he told me $40..... The haul is at least 10k worth of stuff and I got it for $60 bucks...... luckiest sourcing day of my life

I bought a lot of HBP last summer. After I listed most of the higher product items I sold the rest in a lot locally. Ended up getting all my money back selling the lot. So everything else was profit. If you start seeing perfume samples in your sleep you could maybe do that or save it for your garage sale.

I just bought a Cutco block for $10.00 that was seriously beat up and sold the knives individually. I am at $175.00 so far with two pieces remaining. Will probably end up putting the block up very inexpensively. Great haul Dustin. Blessings

I have a cat lamp. I am the first owner from a store here in Hobbs NM and the store was Hobby Lobby. The lamp originally sold for 70$. By the way the shade is hand blown in Africa. I don't remember where in Africa. Mine is 19 years old.

The cat lamp has been made for years.You’ll see them with all kinds of different shades. I had one about 35 years ago and traded it with a friend and then traded and got it back about 20 years ago. About three or four years ago I sold it online and got $550 for it. It was solid bronze and a slightly older version. I don’t know if they’re still making them today. If I had one today I would definitely hold out to try to get real money for it again.

I knew it'd be a former ebayer garage sale, those are some of the most annoying garage sales because just like her all you here is well i paid well i paid, i don't care what you paid it's a garage sale lol. Then you get the how much for this, and it's just like she did oh idk let me check oh its not for sale sorry.....why is it out here lol. Usually all those things are reflections on why their ebay store didn't workout, they're just unwilling to let go of things and don't realize the actual market sale value on them. You made a deal but if that's happening at peak garage sale season the time it took to make that deal i woulda hit up 4 or 5 sales instead lol. I think the one lady's frustration was anything she touched she was told oh no that's not for sale and the fact it wasn't all in one area like you were at the perfumes and she was told no he's buying all that then she walks around to what she thinks is probably safe and is told no that's not for sale either lol she probably just was like oh nothing is for sale at this garage sale and moved on lol.
