Proposed Bacoor Interconnectivity Complex: A Net-Zero Intermodal Terminal

By the end of 2021, the partial operation of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension is expected to be complete, according to the Department of Transportation. It stretches from Baclaran, adding 8 more stations up to Niog Station located in Bacoor, Cavite. Bacoor City is still facing a lot of difficulties in the transportation sector, as it is known to be one of the cities to have the worst traffic congestion outside Manila. Several factors contributed to the increasing traffic congestion problem of the city such as the fractured and flawed transportation system due to lack of public transportation amenities, traffic congestion during peak hours as a result of private cars exiting the City to Manila, lack of parking amenities which results to on-street parking, and so on and so forth. Because of these problems, people prefer traveling to places with their private vehicles than taking public transportation, which also results in added traffic congestion from these private-owned cars. Not only does Bacoor face problems in the transportation sector, but also, frequent power interruption during rainy days also affects the economy.
With the Proposed Bacoor Interconnectivity Complex, the project’s objective is to provide the necessary amenities and needs of the community to make the commuting experience comfortable by serving as a one-stop-shop facility. As the government’s LRT-1 Cavite Extension project started, this project also aims to support the government’s project and supply the needs of the future station. Also, by relying completely on the production of renewable resources as a source of electricity, the threats of frequent power interruption will be eliminated. By adapting the Net-Zero Energy Building concept, this will further boost the economy of Bacoor, Cavite since it will serve as a catalyst to adopt this new concept.
