Because employers have been conditioned to believe that one must have a document called a diploma from a university to be hired. They no longer even consider applicants without this diploma and Universities no longer let students “test out” or prove themselves by taking a test on the subject matter. It all comes down to the money.

The muscle spindle sensory afferent neurons fire more during stretch. The second drawing is showing stretch, not contraction. The proprioceptive reflex response is to prevent muscle damage from over-stretching. Other than that and the misuse of cognitive it was a helpful video.

kinesthesia, learning the muscle memory is a very important step to learning new tricks and is linked directly to consistency. If you are scared you can totally overcome it and be 100% consistent. But if you were never scared in the first place I guess you'ld be face first on the ground by default.

I wonder if the right word to describe proprioception is cognitve? Perhaps intuitive? When we use the term "cognitive" we normally mean we are thinking about something as opposed to responding sub-consciously.

I don’t think so since we test cognitive under mental status while proprioception under sensory system. Cognitive is govern by our cerebral cortex it pertains higher function while proprioception is until the level of your thalamus.. so no.

Muscles don't get thinner when they contract.
@dolls28718 жыл бұрын
+Steven C. i also thought the same but im guessing they should get longer and thinner when stretch just based on basic principles of stretching.......however he said stretch in the video not contract but then we need our muscles to have an overall contraction for us to move them/our body...so yeah contraction =short and broader ...but with my analogy, im using stretch and contraction as antonyms/oppsoted...so i might be wrong, just a thought....

He said when one grasps something to lift (before the contraction which is a reaction--in part--of the spindle elongating) the muscle fibers lengthen. Not entirely clear, but I believe that is what he was saying: Muscle contraction is due to stretching response of the muscle spindles.

Thanks for your explanation. I have sprained my left ankle many times (13ish) and the last 5 times have been in a similar way. Where I step somewhere and I dont step right, or my balance is not right and my ankle just twists, these all have been playing sports. So what would you recommend I do to relearn my position in space for my ankle?

Kinesthesia can also be subconscious, right? Is that "Muscle memory" in a sense?

So if i constantly hit into objects while moving is there a propioception issue or kinesthesia issue?
@Singingwhales5 жыл бұрын
This definition of kinesthesia needs work! In terms of the closing summary - Investigations on balance and the vestibular system were undertaken around the same time as other nineteenth century research into the muscle sense, proprioception and kinesthesia. - The vestibula system was identified in the 1870s. Kinesthesia around 1880 and prorioception in 1906 although these are complex and ongoing areas of research and understanding. P74 of the chapter Kinesthesia in Choreographing Empathy by Susan Leigh Foster states "..with the work of James J. Gibson in the 1950s and 60s...did [Henry Charlton] Bastian's conception of the kinesthetic expand to include the synthesis of information provided by muscle and joint receptors along with information on orientation contributed by the inner ear."

Balance does not form part of proprioception as balance involves other senses such as sight. Proprioception is what is sometimes known as the '6th sense' and is a stand alone sense that we have
@carreraveyron6 жыл бұрын
you sure about that? ive been researching it and it seems that proprioceptors sense movement of muscles to then send messages to the central nervous system, hence allowing sense of balance in space...

May I ask something? What is the connection of Kinesthesia in Architecture? I Understand what is Proprioception and Kinesthesia in this vid but I can't recognize what is the connection between Architecture and Kinesthesia. I just ask about this coz' this is my topic for my Report in Theory of Architecture. Please if you know something about this just inform me. Thank you :)

I think describing kinesthesia as a behavior is incorrect. Kinesthesia is the analog computational results available to the proprioception model. Proprioception in the brain is functionally similar to the Bayesian inference perceptual model in the wiki entry for the Cutaneous Rabbit Illusion written in BASIC. The software can exploit the structure of the brain responsible for spacial awareness with kinetic or visual stimuli inducing vection illusions or hallucinations. It sounds weird, but I think you are AI and I this is an intuitive programming language and I am rife with errors.
