Prorack Roofbox installl on the Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is starting to feel a bit cramped so I picked up a roofbox to help carry some of the load.
I went with the Prorack EXP7 which holds 360 litres. Thsi model was on clearance and has been replaced by the EXP360U. I Picked it up from Supercheap Auto

I ended up buying the rhino rack roof top box 410L...the box has steel reinforced tracks where mounting brackets attach...and they are quick release...2min on 2 mins off....and no risk of it ending up in the traffic...no drills or tools required

Always remember to pack everything you'll need on the journey in your roofbox, ideally in a place which is difficult to get at. Doh!

These boxes look alot more flimsy than I'd have thought. I wonder if it's really worth the effort for the space you get. I'd prefer a little trailer, no fiddly assembly and easier to access your stuff

We have a trailer for big camping trips but it's not much fun taking it over alpine passes and the speed limit is lower. The box is very sturdy and 360l is a lot of stuff. If we have to use the third row seats then there is no boot space and this is a perfect solution. Cheers

6:04 that red square thing is a hole punch , so you didn’t have to use a drill.

Thanks for uploading. How weatherproof do you find it? How easy do you find the ubolts to attach/detach the pod. The Thule looks easier with their system, but this seems towing in weight/size/price.

When I was a lad my father owned a Peugeot 404 estate, the one with three rows of seats, but very little storage in the back. It came with a roof rack that bolted into the roof. He built a big wooden box to fit onto it. 8' x 4' x 15" deep. Hell you could get a serious amout of stuff in it. No idea how many of these new fangled litres it held though, I was brought up with good old imperial measurements, feet and inches, gallons and fluid ounces, half crowns and threepenny bits! Hopefully we can get back to it all after Brexit kicks in proper!
