I personally like Home Exchange as they have been doing it the longest and have an enormous network of homeowners (I believe they're in 150 different countries). We have had some wonderful exchanges through that platform! With that said, I know there are a lot of other great options. Some of them have a focus (such as kid friendly exchanges, pet friendly exchanges, long term work remote, "green" homes, etc). Hope you give it a try. It has honestly been incredible for us ... such a life changing experience!

How about a guest who breaks your toilet, sink and tub and then complains that they "had to" clean the outside of your dishwasher and were a real PIA

Yikes - that sounds HORRIBLE! So sorry you had to deal with that! I’ve been lucky - haven’t had any nightmare guests, but I’m working on a video right now about a recent exchange I went on that was really disgusting! (Stay tuned or subscribe and you’ll see it soon)
